Owning a house

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:32 am

Can I own a house and SAFELY store items in?

I am sick of carrying around so much and using a mailbox to send everything to another where i can't pick and choose from

I have rented a room (I think) for 100 bucks in Novak? (i think :P) but not sure if this is "mine" or "safe" to store stuff in.

Thanks!

Novac (once you rent it once it's you own it). When you arrive at Freeside you can get a room at the Atomic Wrangler. If your in good standing with any factions you can sleep and store your stuff at they're bases/camps/bunkers. Any bed you sleep in that you don't own you won't get the "WELL RESTED XP" bonus (12 hours).

Also Mr. House will eventually give you a large apartment. I've found that once I've rented a room anywhere it becomes kinda like my home away from home... Wherever "home" is. That's puzzling now that I think about it. If the courier was hired in the Mojave, where is the courier's place? Did he/she forget where he/she lived or something? Was the courier a homeless person? Does the courier have a family?

All of these questions and more will be answered in Fallout New Vegas 2: Waking From The Coma. Would be so messed up if the only thing that actually happened in the game that was "real" was getting shot in the head.
Every thing else in the game was just coma dreams. But seriously, those are some very good questions about the Couriers origins.. the world may never know.

You get like five apartments in New Vegas. It's kind of out of control. If you have 9 luck and decide to try your hand at blackjack, as soon as you get to the Strip, assuming you followed the quest there, you'll leave an hour later with like five apartments and 40,000 caps.

For roleplay reasons, I keep my stuff in the Lucky 38 and Novac. I can trust a man like Mr. House, and the people in Novac were the first people to really accept me.

I was thinking about making that my next playthrough. With the Wacky Wasteland trait, I'd have a character that would be legitimately insane. Granted it would all seem real to the main character but it would be like a dream... He would do things he wouldn't normally do... Like run around New Vegas in his underwear or firing wildly into crowds of civilians.
