I am 34 hours into FNV, and I love it.

I have note been to New Vegas yet, not even Freeside. Is this normal? Should I head there now?

Why do you need to go. I am well into the game and have left the main quest alone having got as far as Freeside. I am much happier wandering looking for trouble. Do what you want, play the game how you want, there is nothing that says you have to do it a certain way.

Yep, just play it the way it feels good to ya.

I will say though, I think some of the best content in the game is to be found in Freeside and Vegas. I would make my way there just to be a part of that, hehe!

I think I was around the 25 hour mark when I finally stumbled in. So you've got me beat by ten hours, heh ha. I couldn;t resist it any longer. When you do go, go at night! I made the mistake of wandering in during daylight hours and I feel the entrance was designed for a nighttime visit, heh ha. lol

Who goes to Vegas during the day!? *slaps self* <_< Eedyit.

Are you kidding me? I was probably 60 hours into the game before I even stepped foot in Freeside, lol. :rofl:
I have this "wanderlust" problem where I have to follow the little compass triangles until I discover something... it's like connect the dots, needless to say, I had discovered literally everything from Searchlight to Jacobstown by the time I started in on Freeside. :fallout:

I never voluntarily went to Vegas, I was screwing around in Camp McCarran, stumbled upon the monorail, and ended up on the Strip. Voila.

I was only 15 hours in. Now I'm 30 hours in and I haven't gotten any further in the main quest than I was at 15 and a half hours in. New Vegas is worth it in my opinion, and the story gives you the perfect excuse to start doing sidequests after you talk to Mr. House while you're there. Plus, my Lucky 38 suite is just closer to every where I want to explore than my Novac motel room, so that was well worth the trip too.

I made a B-Line there on my first character (hardcoe, just trying to beat it).

Spent a good 30 before I got there on my second. Feels different getting there with a full set of seriously dangerous gear as opposed to the 10mm I had when I got there the first time.
