Most Stable Console Version?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:21 am

My 360 experience is pretty good. I installed it to the hard drive, and I've had no serious game breaking glitches since the patch. Load times were also cut down from over a minute to generally 30 seconds AT MOST. A few freezes but I've only had to restart maybe twice (well, about 4 if you count the 3 times I did the same thing over and over, not learning my lesson.

I thought that NCR rep was glitched out because I stole a book, because I kept getting shot at by the monorail guards, then I realized it was because I was an impatient jerk and I wasn't giving them time to tell me to stop.

This is what you do (I'm assuming you have both a ps3 and an xbox 360)

1. find a coin
2. flip it
3. if it is heads then go for xbox, tails then ps3
4. play the game and have fun

seriously it is a crapshoot because some people have bugs like an anthill and others have seen nothing wrong in the game.

why would there be such inconsistency in who has glitches and who doesn't? Is it the sequence one plays the game in? E.g. you play only side quests and your game freaks out, or what?

Little to no difference between consoles.
Xbox 360 has a crippling game save bug at the moment but I'm sure that will be patched up soon.
With my experience on PS3, I had pauses and 1 crash so far but as far as bugs, same bugs from Fallout 3.

This. Haven't had the save bug on the 360 yet, 90 hours in over two characters...

EDIT:

The one thing I've noticed on the 360 anyways is the following steps work best:

1. Install to Hard Drive
2. Don't use the Preorder DLC (yet...)
3. If you play for 4+ hours, restart the console and clear the cache every so often

My loading times are about ten seconds max, very few glitches.

If you're playing on PS3 and love the game, the most stable version is PS3.

If you're playing on PS3 and hate the game, the most stable version is 360.

If you're playing on 360 and love the game, the most stable version is 360.

If you're playing on 360 and hate the game, the most stable version is PS3.

...that is to say, it's all a crapshoot. The bugs and glitches don't even seem to be congruent across the same platform. I play on the PS3, and my game has crashed maybe 10 times in 70+ hours of play. I've also met people playing on both consoles who complain of the game freezing at least once an hour. The only conclusion I draw from this is that neither version is more stable than the other - it appears to be random.
