Has anyone else actually attempted a legitimate re-roll?

I tried to finish every quest in my first playthrough because I found out the game simply "ended" without being able to continue playing after the main quest was done. So I tried to do everything I could in my first playthrough, which I pretty much did.

Now I just can't seem to want to do it again. I made a build that took me no joke at least 5 hours to create and was really excited about it, then I went and played for 10 mins and exited the game. I'm still in goodsprings.

Did this happen to anyone else???

Yep. For some God unknown reason, I just cannot seem to make a second character. In Oblivion, I played over 200 Hours on my Nord, but I cannot make a new character.

Sometimes it helps to put the game down for a while. I'm sure if you let it go for a week or two, you might get right back in it. I haven't completed the game yet, I'm still finding other things to do, there are a ton of side quests. I'd suggest trying some of those as well.

I'm still on my first play-through. I hope I don't have that problem in NV. I didn't get very far with a second play-though of Fallout 3, though. There just aren't very many things to do differently in FO3, and my first character was already good at just about everything. I was hoping this would be different in NV, but I can't make a judgment yet.

I'm big on replaying games so it isn't much of an issue for me. However I usually hit a wall after my third playthrough in most games. Then I just set it aside for a while and come back to it at a later date. I've beat Oblivion, Mass Effect 1 and 2, and Fallout 3 too many times to count. I just cycle through my games.

Well it could be that if you played Fallout 3 the concept of the Series is not as exciting anymore.

Maybe, maybe I was expecting something grander in this version. I don't know. I just know that when I tried re-rolling I just didn't want to do it lol.

I did pretty much the same thing as the OP; completed most of the quests in a single guy. Went back and did those I missed/couldn't complete with another.

Now I have a sandbox character. Modded the game to have a level 100 cap, started a character at level 10, gave myself the only weapons and armor I will ever use, and set all the quests to complete. Now I just "live" in the Mojave, pretending to be a random prospector.

Yeah, I felt this way until I got a realism mod. Now it goes a lot slower, but every battle is much more dramatic. It keeps it fun while I do missions I found annoying the first time.

I found there were multiple ways to complete the same mission set. I also finished the game at level 20 so wanted to gain a few more levels and look at the content I missed. There are already plenty of mods beginning to be written. With all the 'dead space' on the map 'm sure there's plenty of room for DLCs. Also what's fun *and possible) is going from Goodsprings to Gunrunners at a very low level. Experimenting with a lot of low level builds but messing around with a character that it now over level 20 (and will likely hit 30) that I will complete the game in a different manner with. Its possible to get idolized with each area, apparently, so I can go through the game with a different outlook each time.
Having fun breaking the casinos at the moment. So far two of the three floor managers won't let me near a machine. Made off with a total of 47k caps from those two. We'll see how much money i can make off with from the White Glove Society and then look for something to spend it on as I'm already fully implanted.
I find myself not using VATS as much as I used to. Its very strange.
I wouldn't worry too much. I felt like I was being herded through the first time. After that I try to break out of the mold.

61 quests completed, 93 locations discovered, 69 (!) hours clocked. And I haven't even chosen a side yet. You bet I'm going to play this again as a different character-build, alignment and sides-chosen. But just like the other Fallouts (1 & 2), I'm going to let this one sleep for a bit after I complete the first play-through. No need to race or rush back in - time to get back to the outside world I've put on hold, lol!

Outside world? Oh you mean like when you play Civ V. Got it.

Just finished my third play-through - played it through with each of the three different factions.

Depends what you mean by legit. I completed the main storyline as well as a plethora of side quests on one account but then I accidentally deleted my character so I was FORCED to re-roll. Ended up making a melee based character for Very Hard - hardcoe mode. Also I remade my previous character he's now level 30 with all of the skills and almost all of the same perks.

I was very hesitant to re-rolling and I even ended up shutting off my xbox 360 a few times out of boredom and frustration with doing the same quests and fighting the same guys. But it's only bad at first, once you have gone passed the introduction and the quests outside of Vegas it gets interesting again. Just give it time and keep trying.
