for some reason im not getting this side quest...

do i need to do certain things to kick it off??

I'm so sorry. If you had Boone with you, I know he's happy. I've always dealt with Silus with speech checks...it's fun getting him to spill his guts without the actual guts part. I don't know...maybe someone else does?

To get the mission, which is easily missed, you ask Boyd who is missing and she will tell you about Anders and the Fiends. THIS IS KEY: you must then ask "anyone else missing?" which is easily missed, and will not show up again later unless you go through the same rounds of questions.

But in your case, since she'll no longer speak with you, I think you're screwed. White does have a locker (which comes up red if you don't have the mission) which his journal in it. Try opening/picking it - that may launch the quest for you.

Or you can try a previous save. See if you have an auto-save from when you first entered the bldg.

Yup, there's your problem. You need to find a save before you killed Silus (and yeah, I know it's tempting...) . The quest is also unavailable if you complete it on the Legion side (ie, helping Silus break himself out).

If you're after influence with Boone, there are quite a few other chances to gain his approval.
