fears about bugs(new player)

Post » Sat Mar 05, 2011 11:36 pm

Hello i have just bought fallout new vegas on steam and i have some fears about bugs that break pleasure.

AT the moment i ama at a moment where i would like to recruit a npc non human, but i read on fallout wikia that this npc can make enmies hostile.

Can you tell me if all this was fixed.I have no idea about what obsidian has fixed.

I have decided to make many saves to avoid bad surprises, what makes me afraid are bugs like " if you do this before this, then quest is buggued"

That what i fear the most as i have decided to play in ultra hard+hardcoe.

If the next fallout is as good for scenario but with no bugs it will be perfect.

The only companion I know of that makes NPCs hostile to the player is most definitely not a bug.

Honestly I would wait a week to see if Bethesda/Obsidian release another patch that fixes actual bugs (Not cap/xp exploits)

If not then download the community patch which fixes 99% of the problems and then just use that and further updates of it and never download a Bethesda/Obsidian patch.

You are lucky you bought it on PC dude. The modding community are 500000x better than Beth is at patching their games. Look at Oblivion and Fallout 3.

Boone?

And I've heard that some NPC's really don't like eyebots.

Oh, and I've had a few minor bugs, some freezes. But really, I have no idea what all the fuzz is about.
I've yet to encounter anything game-breaking.
Makes me think it's not the game that the problems lies at but rather the players system.

I was just reading about others experiences with ED-E in another thread.
Personally I have never had any issues - my companions might as well not exist, as far as NPCs are concerned.
I'm Level 22 (playing ~85 hours).
So don't worry,
Regards

Yes, Boone.

All the ED-E bugs I hear usually revolve around what happens when he leaves the group. It doesn't turn them hostile to the player. I experienced it myself with the Securibots.

Agreed. Sometimes I think too many people try to break/exploit the game during gameplay and then get mad when something bad happens.

Same. Very minor in my book. (The joy the game has give to this point so out ways the annoyances.)
Same again. Nothing going back a few saves didn't solve. (Saving often is always recommended. Like every 10 minutes.)
It's both. Some systems would do wonders if cleaned up. (Fresh OS install.) The game does have issues though, no doubt about that.

As a new player, I'll recommend you save a lot as mentioned. Then if an issue does come up, you don't have far to go to redo what was done already.

I'm having a lot of fun with this game. Had I listened to some with issues, I'd be missing all that fun. Thankfully I'm well aware of the issues TES/Fallout games have had since Morrowind. (Where I came into the picture.) I also seem to avoid the worst in all of them. Lucky me. :)
