Quartz and Victory

In FO3 we were introduced to Nuka-Cola Quantum. A limited time soft drink Nuka-Cola developed with a radioactive isotope in it to make it glow, because their research showed that a flashier appearance made for better sales. Plus, some people seemed to like the taste and/or the fact it made your pee glow.

Now what's the deal with Nuka-Cola Victory (red glowing Nuka-Cola) and Nuka-Cola Quartz (white glowing Nuka-Cola)? Are they also using an isotope? Were they made around the same time as Quantum? Does Quantum even count because it was made for a game that most regard as non-canon?

I want to know more about Victory and Quartz. I've been obsessing over them. I have literally stuffed Dinky's mouth in Novac with hundreds of them (so now you can see that mofo from SPACE!) and I study them each night to try and uncover their secrets, to no avail. Obsidian, you must tell me what possessed Nuka-Cola to make these hypnotic flavors of glowing awesome.

You could fanwank it pretty easily and say they were market tests by Nuka Cola to try and crack Sunset Sasaparilla's dominance of the southwest soft drink market.

Fallout 3 is canon. But, they need to put in a backstory on Victory and Quartz. Also I haven't found a Quartz yet, just a Victory in one of the Jacobstown Bungalows.

Is there any reason to collect these? Or are they just a better version of Nuka-Cola for aid?

You don't NEED to collect them since there is a perk that allows you to create them.

They aren't "better" than Nuka-Cola because they heal at the same rate; but they offer other buffs/debuffs besides being healed and increased Radiation level.
