ED-E Killed at The Strip North Gate

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:10 pm

I'm not playing the hardcoe mode. However, I sent ED-E to the Lucky 38 and return later to find it dead before the gate? Someone explain this to me. What is the point of having the "clubhouse" in the Lucky 38 if your conpanions can't even get through? While we are at it -- why are there so many doors to get to the "clubhouse"? Couldn't you make it something simple or given the player the option to assign a building ( selected few locations ) as the base?

It seems a bug specific to ED-E, not a general rule. I suspect that since his accuracy is so awful, he tends to hit civvies when attacking those thugs in the area.

They can go into the Lucky 38, just the lobby and your suite. If he is dead and you don't want to reload a previous saved game, you could use the console to "revive" him, although doing this will forfeit achievements on your game. By the by, can't you just get more parts and rebuild him again?

It only foreits achievements for that session. Quitting then restarting the game activates them again.

I discovered what happens. I fast traveled with Boone and ED-E in tow to The Strip North Gate and sent them, one-by-one, to the Lucky 38. I watched as Boone walked towareds the gate and noticed something strange. He paid for his way through the gate. ED-e is a robot and cannot pay the fee. The securitrons mark ED-E as an unauthorized entry and terminate.

Yo, Bethesda, brilliant move.

I don't believe you. I honestly don't. That would be incredible.

Also, Rex has no trouble getting through the gate in my experience.

you could use the console to "revive" him,

If on the PC click on him and type: resurrect

Welcome back to life ED-E. :)

If not, loading a save is the only way.

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect, even if you don't save and quit and or reload, it still forfeits them.

No, only for the session. So, load game, revive ED-E, then save. Reload save, carry on receiving achievements.

Nope. I've received achievements after using the console, so it definitely doesn't forfeit them forever.
