My reputation with Caesar's Legion is Vilified, after having killed a good number of them. I had assassins sent after me and killed them. I also have a very positive NCR rep. However, I've just fast-traveled and found myself in the midst of at least five Legionnaires- and NONE of them are hostile! They appear yellow on the compass, too. It's a typical wilderness patrol that has just wiped out a group of NCR soldiers and a couple of mole rats. I tried talking to them, and they say "Give me cause, profligate"- that is, they dislike me for being NCR-friendly but they won't shoot unless provoked. Is that normal?

i found that when I got Boone as a companion and started killing Legion with him this happened once I moved on to using Raul. My rep was vilified but no one attacked and they were yellow. Once I started killing them on my own they attacked as normal, but only after the number of kills it would take to go from neutral to hated.

If I earn vilified without Boone they also act as normal and attack. So I think it's some sort of bug with Boone, at least it was for me.

I didn't think they attacked on sight with Vilified. It's one more rep level down that they do.

But thats strange they appear YELLOW, never had that happen for me.

I've had this "problem" even tho its not a bad thing, makes easy exp.

I think he means they're Amber on the compass. Basic HUD color.

im starting to notice something going wrong with the reputations so ive had this problem and also the opposite happens.wierd.

Had a similar thing happen with me and the NCR.
I killed all the NCR that raid the prison, and got vilified status early on.
I was visited by the Ranger-ette and her pal and tried to kill them but they ran away too fast. Next time I swore I'd be prepared and when she showed up to tell me I had 2 days to live I killed them both.

After that I was visited by the dynamic duo again, who were somehow still alive despite me wearing her armor and hat! They told me I had one day to live, I told them they were already dead and exploded them by punching them with my Spiked Love and Hate Knuckles, FOTNS style.

After that, days and days have passed but no rangers paid me any more visits, and all NCR are still friendly. I'm not always friendly to them, but it's nice to know I can still work for them to make money even as I'm laying waste to their patrols and bases. After I do all quests for an area I usually wipe it out.


ALSO, I've only seen Caesar's legion assassins once, when I tried to free the Powder Ganger captives on a different character, the Assassins showed up immediately after I wiped out the camp. Every other playthrough I've either not attacked the Legion or rather wait until after dealing with Benny before I "declare war".

Also, I wonder: do faction hit squads stop appearing after you deal with benny and get amnesty from them? As in, if I attack them after getting amnesty they don't send anyone? There seems to be a lot of bugs associated with the hit squads.

ive never seen a hit squad yet but i really wanna.i think once you got the chip maybe they dont wanna kill ya coz they need chip.kinda makes me wonder why the bos dont want it.i also once spent ages getting liked by ncr,not liked actually whatever the next one up is.anyway all of a sudden im neutral again.WTF.
