I prefer the Pistol as I'm not a big fan of the SMG's in this game. Also the SMG will burn through ammo really quickly where as the Pistol won't

It's hard to get and a nice throwback to FO1/2. That SMG looks like a blocky afterthought made for suppressing riots in annexed Canada or something.

You could suppress a Canadian moose with a 12.7mm (or .50 caliber) round.

Well, one of them is a pistol and one of them is an SMG, so...

Gotta go with the pistol I find the smg has horrible accuracy even with maxed out skill and meeting the weapon's requirements.

For RP reasons my characters only carry one two handed weapon at a time. So if I've got a rifle I'll carry the 12.7 pistol as back up. If I know I'll be inside and doing a lot of close fitting. I'll ditch the rifle and use 12.7 SMG.

There are better weapons in the same class as the pistol...quite a few. The SMG however kicks ass!

I prefer the pistol, it has a higher damage per shot and is significantly more accurate. I have found that I lean towards damage and accuracy more than DPS and body/limb shots.

Also, the magazine on the SMG is ridiculously small.
