Ok the thing I realy miss in Fall out 3 en Fall out New Vegas are the guns.
In fall out 2 you could find the FN Fall, real shot guns, LSW (light support weapon) M60 Etc.
It gives a better sence of realism, but more important you would have a good indication of what a rifle would be capable of. If you have an intrest in weapons of course.
What is your opinion about this?
Do you miss the variety in weapons, or do you like these fantasy weapons, that can lead to miss understandings like with the service rifle. The service rifle does not even come close to the rifle it resembles, the AR-15.
Please give your opinion.
"Real Shot Guns"? Blasphemy!
I think the weapons in F:NV are extremely well balanced all things considered, with benefits and trade-offs to each level design. DT was a great way to balance out the hitting power of different guns / rounds, and the mods give us improvements and expansion - both very excellent adds. The crafting of Ammo is another Huge deal for guns in the game, its much more than the average shooter where you find "ammo". Thats for FPS games, I'm much more interested in the richer experience of choosing and making ammos, the variety is pleasing. Iron sights gets me close-enough back to the FPS experience to be satisfied given all the other rich content and features we get with the game. So for me its not Just the guns or variety of guns, and much more about what they Did with the guns that creates a robust experience IMHO.
There are certainly many more Types of guns that could be put in the game and will be through mods, but I fear many of these will lack the balance that was put into the core set of weapons unless they are done by the FOOK or FWE teams. Still, I sure wouldn't mind having a Desert Eagle in the game, nothing would be finer for those moments when a Cazadore charges from around a rock.
To me the "All American" (Carbine) feels much closer to the AR-15 than the service rifle does in how it shoots, but the model for the Service Rifle looks good.
I'm sure alot of people will wish for Fo1 or Fo2 guns, and as posted the modders will fill that gap. But in terms of what Obsidian did with Guns in the game as it was shipped, I could not have been more pleased. :goodjob:
