Are NCR dollars hard to find?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 4:39 pm

Hi! I'm almost done modding a hoverboard into the game, but I need to know something for a quest I'm making: Are NCR dollars very hard to come by? Is there some way of changing caps into NCR money? In short, can you get infinite amounts of it, or is it limited? It takes me ages to complete games like this and find out myself, if anyone knows I'd be happy if you'd tell me :)

I think you could launder caps into casino chips, and then chips back to NCR, at any of the casinos of course.

EHHHHH, Semi. A good quantity can be found on Escaped convicts, Powder gangers and SOME NCR merchants, and sometimes certian NCR citizens will give you NCR dollars for completing a quest for them.

Or just do what xoham said. xD

You can exchange caps for any casino chips and then return to cash back out and get caps, NCR$, or Legion$ and you aren't limited how
much.

You'll also sometimes get NCR cash from various Caravan opponents. I tend to think of it as an attempt by the opponent to cheat a bit on paying their debt.

Failing all of the above, you can always loot some NCR cash off dead troopers and rangers. Kill them yourself if you don't care about the NCR infamy, or tag along with them on patrol and let the Legionaries or others they come across do your dirty work.

For that matter you could probably pickpocket NCR troops for it if your Sneak skill is good enough. Be prepared to make a lot of reloads if you're trying this at some NCR stronghold like Camp McCarran, though. :)

Your best bet to get large amounts of it, though, is to use the casino trick. Buy chips with caps, then turn them in for NCR cash. You'll take an exchange rate hit, though.

That's okay, I was just worried there might be a finite supply, in case you kill everyone you meet except one merchant, sell him the NCR cash and then wait four days. If you can exchange it at casinos it's good though.
