Explosives... A waste of a skill?

Aerodynamic is the easy part, the hard thing is target locking

So the home made rocket actually makes the Missile launcher more usable because it removed the crappy target locking....

I've never noticed the lock on....
....however my Missile launcher usage is used more like a shotgun due to forgetfulness on my part. (Many Many crippled Limbs)

Well spread would have to be higher as it's make more sense, but yeah they'd be dumb missiles.

I LOVE explosives, but for me I have to be very careful how and when I use them. This is all just my opinion based on my experiences and others may or may not agree. Out in the open on fairly level terrain they totally kick azz. That said, I might have a fairly unique way I use them however. I find that just tossing them don't work that well for me, but VATS targeting almost always drops the dynamite or grenade right at their feet! But the terrain needs to be fairly level and not a lot of debris or obstructions that may cause the explosive to bounce in an odd direction. Also, the other thing I REALLY have to be careful of is Veronica charging for a punch at the exact moment I target in VATS. That usually turns out badly for her, lol. Inside, you really have to be aware of the height of the ceiling and other obstructions. I usually only target one grenade at a time, but if there are multiple enemies that are close to one another you often get lucky and get 2 or even 3 in one shot! You just gotta use them in the right spots.

Ceilings *shudder* the bane of thrown explosives, I've killed myself with the damn dynamite hitting the ceiling then falling straight down at my feet before....

Universal DT just needs to be revamped to like it was in the originals. Each armor had different DT for each damage type.

ive heard people saying that 40mm are hard to come by. i just want to say have you checked the gun runners yet, for me they have a TONNE of 40mm grenades. i also want to know does the Grenade Machine Gun use 40mm. or some other grenade type

but i must agree i have trouble finding grenades of any kind other than 40mm.

The mmG uses 25mm shells, except that there's a unique version of the mmG that uses 40mm shells.

Spoiler
The weapon's name is Mercy, clip size is 12 or 16 shells vs the 30 shells in the 25mm mmG.

One thing you neglected to mention about Mercy is what guards the gun. Hint: it's kind of a big deal.

35 DT and 885 hit points ain't gonna get rid of themselves, ya know...

So just pretend all GLMGs have 25mm grenades. And forget about the 40mm GLMG until you hit the level cap and have perfect everything armor.
