OK so I was at Forlorn Hope walking around trying to find a few quests to do.
When I walked by a NCR Heavy Trooper I noticed that he had what looked like a Chinese Assault Rifle.
So has anyone else seen this and if a Mod sees this can you tell me if it was.

I've never seen anybody carrying what looked like a Fallout3-style CAR. NCR "heavy troopers" may be equipped with a http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Light_machine_gun?

must be the LMG, for sure

On fallout wiki it says that they either carry a flamer or LMG, I'm guessing thats what you saw:)

The Mods don't work at Bethesda, they just monitor the forums. I guess they might have a better shot at getting an email answered or something than we do but like others said, it's a light machine gun. You should have just saved, killed him, looted the weapon to see what it was, then reloaded the save.

I use that gun all the time, NCR doesn't carry them. The locations section tells you as much.

Ah, I figured the list was incomplete. Truth be told, I don't care much for the NCR to take a close look at their weaponry.

I have seen NCR Heavy Trooper with miniguns.

No it wasn't a LMG it didn't have the Box mag

find him, auto save, kill him, take it, find out what it is, reload save

Honestly. Save, kill the guy in question, loot him, and see what the gun is. Then reload back to your original save ^^
Honestly I think you might be referring to the brush gun.
