NCR Keeps killing Me!

Fall Out: New Vegas (360 version)

I was "liked" by the NCR found the Mojave out post, did some quests. Did the helios quest, left there fine. Somehow my status with both the NCR and the Rangers went down to Neutral and they shoot me on site.

I've tried everything changing clothes, going into places with no clothes, killing Caesar legionaries, freeing NCR captives etc. NCR and Rangers shoot me on site every time. I managed to dress in NCR and slip past a few guards at the Mojave outpost, but as soon as I talk to someone they start unloading on me, yet it still says Neutral on the map! I'm also villified by powder gangers and Caesar's Legion.

Is this gonna be addressed in the patch and has anyone else experienced this?

It's possible to lose reputation with the NCR if you do too many "main quests" for either Mr. House, Yes Man, or Caeser's Legion. Is that what you did?

No, there is nothing you can do for House that will piss off the NCR. Until maybe the very last mission(even that is optional). Doing things for House will prevent you from doing things for NCR, but it will not piss them off.

To OP: i think it is a glitch, especially if they are shooting you while you are disguised as NCR trooper or engineer.

Did you put on legion or brotherhood armor recently?
There is a bug where if faction armor is removed due to being used to repair an item the faction disguise won't be properly removed so equipping and unequiping another piece of faction armor should correct it

Haven't even made it to Mr. House yet. Haven't even made it inside New Vegas city.

Tried the armor off and on a few times. Even tried walking in without clothes completely. Still says neutral.

If you haven't even got to Vegas yet, how did you get 'liked' status with the NCR?

I didn't get that till I did a lot of quests for them...

I assume that console gamers take a bigger brunt of the bugs.

As a PC Gamer, I too have the bug where being villified with the powder gangers still allowed me to talk to them at the NCRCF. But all it took were a few bullets to their heads to "correct" this bug. :P

You said you just exited Helios One. Did you activate ARCHIMEDES in the tower through a terminal?

Allighed the mirrors, sent power to "most area possible" I think, didn't use archimedes, and when I walked out I could still talk to everyone without getting shot. Though it did happen shortly after that mission.

Did you use Archimedes for fun, then load back to your previous save game to complete the quest normally?
If yes, there is some problem where save games get corrupted, and despite loading back, they "remember" what you did before you loaded the game back.

Hmm, that sounds like it, i used the terminal, the alarms started going off, then i shut it down before it activated, leaving everyone alive. Unfortunatley i wasn't in the habit of multiple saves. So nothing to fall back on.

options?

I've been exploring for the past few days thinking it would fix itself.

Yes, if you follow the main quest, there will be a point where every major faction will "reset" their relations with you and forgive your past transgressions, because they want to talk to you about furthering their ambitions.

Just continue the main quest.
