Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 6:27 am

I keep forgeting to ask, and I never seen this posted. The guy on the cover, who is he? Can we get his helmet and armour? What is the name of the gun. Please no spoilers, I just want to know if I can get it eventually or am I just looking in vain.

That's a veteran ranger, they'll start showing up at ranger stations at level 12 or 14. If you kill one you can take their stuff - if you can get the gear without killing them I haven't encountered it yet (although I also haven't looked for this).

The gun is a .44 magnum, I think. The armor is one of the better NCR armors, so you can see it later in the game.

NCR Veteran Ranger. Yes, you can kill them and take the armor. His weapon looks like either a .357 magnum or .44 magnum.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Desert_Armor Yes you would find it on NCR Rangers but they are very rare and seem to be found at higher levels.

You need to do one of the main quests.

I think its "For the Republic. I" and "The House Always Wins" I don't think render unto caesar brings em out as soon as those two.

They start to show up after you finish one of the main faction quests such as the quest you get from NCR embassy in New Vegas

Ah, that might explain it then as I've barely touched the MQ - having too fun wandering the wastes and doing my thing.

There are too many interesting things in Fallout that never appear until certain quests are triggered. Because the alternate endings are relatively deep in this game, it's not quite as simple as in FO3. There you could go right up to the ending warning.

In FONV it's best to not go too far along any of the faction quests but you do have to start them.

False.

I think it's the .357 with a long barrel attachment, it's too round to be a .44 and it's silver... So.

EDIT: Actually the .357's hilt is too light colored to be it, the gun in the cover is Darker.

Its the ranger man.

Oh man, at Camp Golf, I have seen at least 20 of them. They are a lot there.

Not surprising though.
