What are te best perks to have.

There is no right way to make a character, there is a wrong way to make a character.( By picking perks or using skill points on skills you do not use.) It is mostly common sense.

Like others said, depends on your build

Here's a few suggestions

Melee or Unarmed - Super slam makes this character. Worth getting, even on unarmed (you need 45 melee)

Unarmed - piercing strike

Melee or Unarmed - toughness can help as you will be up close and personal a lot.

Guns - get hand loader asap; you can make better ammo

Sniper character - better criticals combined with finesse

General - comprehension (very powerful if you want to make a lot of science/barter/speech/lockpick skill checks more quickly and easily)

I'm also avoiding the vats perks as I don't use it as much as fallout 3.

Jury Rigging is by far the best perk IMO, but other ones like strong back and pack rat are good for all builds too. Toughness is decent but make sure to take perks that support your chosen combat and noncombat skills.

Educated
Comprehension
Nerves of Steel
Jury Rigging
Better Criticals
Strong Back
Super Slam

Those are the must haves imo the remaining varies depending on build. Other good perks are slayer and piercing strike for melee builds. Ninja for melee and sniper builds. Finesse for crit builds (better criticals also works on sneak crits which is why even regular builds should have it). Hand Loader for gun builds. Silent running for sneak builds. And Meltdown for energy weapon builds.

For me, Educated, Jury rigger, Light step, Silent running and Strong back tend to be the most useful, but the perks do depend very much on how you like to play your game, I'm mostly explorer/scavanger.

For me the Strong Back, Mystery Man and Rapid Reload and really useful. Also if you have enough Barter Skill Pack Rat is a handy skill to have.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but i felt making an entirely new thread would be pointless. For my next playthrough, I'm aiming for an "evil" chracter specializing in melee/unarmed and speech.
What would you guys suggest, including SPECIAL, for such a build?
