doesn't anyone in 2281 know how to tie a tie?

Come on! This is alternate Vegas! Spiritual home of the rat pack, a long, drawn out '50s, and snappy dress. And yet nobody seems to know how to tie his tie. I'll grant you we wouldn't expect that with 'grimey' and 'dirty' pre-war business suits. But I just failed the "protect President Kimbal' quest, and I thought, "Oh well, at least I get a suit with a tie thats tied' and take the dead president's suit and put it on. EVEN THAT TIE IS UINTIED!

That's clearly the style of the time period.

Who have they got to impress? All those high society-types got blown up or go around eating people.

If they can't pick a skeleton up off their living room floor, then they probably can't bother to tie a proper knot.

Vault suits had not ties. So yeah, probably that was forgotten.

I'm surprised they still wear ties at all.

I stopped wearing ties in real life because I found it hard to use a Stimpak. I also found out the Boone wouldn't follow me to the grocery store if I was wearing one.

The tie on Benny's Suit is tied when you put it on. The picture of the president's suit on the wiki is tied when it's on the npc, but it's not when you put it on?

Its a lost art....but everybody has collected ones already tied and they just loosen them and slip them over thier head. There are a few merchants that have learned the skill, passed on for generations, and they will retie a tie for caps.

Interesting observation. I guess the technology of tie tying was one of the casualties of the nuclear holocaust.

They don't even know how to pick up bent tin cans, so I'm not surprised.
