Sniper Gear Advice?

That's really it, besides the obvious choice: Sniper Rifle. I'm on very hard and I've yet to find anything that I've needed the anti-materiel rifle for. The Sniper gets the job done. And the Gobi Scout Rifle is inferior, IMO. It barely does more damage, and isn't silenced. A full modded sniper even weighs less. The only benefit the Gobi has over the Sniper is it's easier to maintain, but Jury Rigging makes that benefit trivial. Considering the Gobi uses the same ammo as the Sniper Rifle, I see little reason to carry it around other than aesthetics.

Well the AM can 1 shot some stuff the Sniper can't (I'm pretty sure the sniper can't 1 shot deathclaws on very hard?), but since you can fire a 2nd shot so quickly I suppose it doesn't matter.

The Gobi's advantage over the Sniper rifle is the extra 1 bullet for short/medium range. And unfortunately because of the stupid 5x base crit multiplier, the Sniper/Gobi will outperform all your other Guns at short/medium in terms of DPS (assuming you got all the crit related stuff so you're at 100% crit with 50% better crits). The extra bullet is significant because it's often a whole extra guy you can kill before reloading.

Thank you all so much on your opinions on which kind of weapons that are key to win or make a beautiful shot.
I think i will have an AM Rifle, SR. and M1 Grand. Including a coffee or hot chocolate while I nail a bullet into
anythings head as I go lol

Second question as I knew one of you would mention about the black armor I mentioned early in this
page, you said alpha so I shall check there.

Thanks for all the help, I would also ask if you guy/girls would help me pick a really good clothing gear to
use as I'm venturing out there.

Also I wondering if anyone knows if they are gunna have a multiplayer part in Fallout were we can venture togeather
and do missions and such, that would be cool, Because we could share armor or take out a full team of evil robots
or somthing aha. Well tell me more information as we venture in our worlds.

Thanks!
See you soon fellow Valterians!

Well shoot, if you're going as far as to drink certain things to further immerse yourself in the sniper experience, I wouldn't go with coffee. Whenever I go shooting IRL, I skip the coffee because it sometimes makes me too jittery to hit the really far targets.

But heck, it's a game. Drink whatever you want. ;)
