Yeah, I know no one can give an exact date but let's guess. Is it gonna be within the next couple weeks or will we have to wait 'til sometime in December? Maybe on the 25th for a Christmas present!

Bethesda sure takes its time with patches. Especially on the PS3 version. I'm guessing X-mas.

Good thing Bethesda Game Studios isn't making the patches, eh?

Anyway, for the console versions, don't the patches have to go through testing by Microsoft/Sony first?

It seems like we PC users are the guinea pigs. The last update we got included some nice things (like showing companions on the local map in the Pipboy), but has some bugs (like crippling animation processing bugs when reloading one-round-at-a-time weapons while crouched). I'm guessing they're collecting feedback from the users so the next patch for the consoles is bug-free.

@FalloutFTW - are we sure they're not? I'm not clear on whose working on the patches...I'd guess it's probably some Obsidian people and some Bethesda people.

Why would they? That would be like some random developer under EA's arm making patches for BioWare games just because EA owns BioWare. And even then, Zenimax doesn't own Obsidian.

Then again, BGS knows the engine better than anyone, so they could send some people to help them. But no way that BGS is mainly in charge of developing patches.

Well, Bethesda had some developers on the NV project from what I've heard...they weren't there to create content so much as to help with tech/engine stuff. I know that Obsidian was in charge of content and in-game scripting with some oversight from Bethesda.

Not saying they're mainly in charge, but I'd be surprised if they weren't involved since the person credited for heading up QA for the game is a Bethesda employee.

I'm going to say late this week, early next week. Something like that. I'm hoping it fixes the bug with lever-actions guns though.

Hopefully they are taking their time to make sure it is done correctly. Better to wait an extra couple weeks and have the patch work and not cause new problems.

Depends on who you ask. Some people are optimistic and others believe that the game's bugs will be fixed when Hell freezes over.

Personally it really doesn't matter to me, but I think it'll only be a couple weeks.

I've owned two Xbox 360s. One regular one, and one Elite (which is what I use now). My first Xbox did the RROD thing once. I sent it in and Microsoft fixed it for free in a week. My Elite has never given me any problems.

Disappointed there wasn't a when its done option. Oh well I voted two weeks...takes a while for them to do this stuff so that seems like a fair guess.

Same here, nearing three and a half years on my Elite and still no problems. My brother had an Elite that had the disc drive go out but if you install the games to the hard drive it should help prevent this since the disc isn't constantly spinning.

Well that svcks. Sounds like most people are thinking two weeks or more. I don't wanna start a new character until the patch is released. I'm trying to be patient and wait as opposed to starting now, running into glitches, and having the patch possibly not fix much or, even worse, create more problems in the middle of the game. Some people might say that it wouldn't make a difference, but when I installed Patch 1.01 my game seemed to get worse. I'm thinking if I wait 'til the new patch is installed I can avoid complications. I'll probably stick to my plan unless convinced otherwise.
