Hitman Build.

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:36 am

In New Vegas, my 3rd playthrough is going to be based off a Hitman Type of Assassin.

Here is the Special Layout:

S: 4 (Not going for macho man here.)
P: 7 ( Need to know where all enemies are located, right?)
E: 3 ( Seems like something I'd rarely use.)
C: 7 ( Gotta put up a clever character to hide whats really inside.)
I: 6 ( Going to us an implant to boost it up to 7.)
A: 5 ( Good where it is.)
L: 8 ( Aiming for criticals to ensure the enemy is dead.)

Tagged skills will be: Guns, Repair, and Sneak.

I am still deciding on perks.

Weapons of choice:
[Main Executioner] Silenced Sniper Rifle. ( To ensure no one knows what happened.)
[Other Executioner] Anti-Material Rifle. ( To ensure they know what happened.)
[Main Weapon] RatSlayer ( Executioners are different, they are used for high priority targets. This gun will be used on small game, like NCR troopers.)
[Back-Up CQ] Silenced 10mm Pistol. ( Just in case things need to be finished properly.)
[Extreme Measures Back-Up] This Machine. ( If things get out of hand, this will be the last gun the enemy sees.)
[Explosive Device] C4 ( Loading up on C4 won't possibly hurt.)

This is my hit man so far, I'd like to hear what you think of him, and if any possible improvements should be made.

silenced 12.7, either SMG or pistol, along with the .22 silenced. The professional perks is a must. I would drop the AM rifle though, that over kill... just use the silenced sniper.

The only issue i see with your build is strength. I say this because the rifles you wanna use require more strength then what you have. I mean you can still shoot them....but unless your gonna depend on one shot kills with VATS , then good look aiming manually with a .50 cal rifle.

A hitman is supposed to be nimble and quick, isn't he? I would count on the Finesse-perk for more criticals instead of high luck and use the points in agility...

And drop the AMR. You are to weak for that cannon anyway...

Put Charisma at 1. ALWAYS PUT IT AT 1! :banghead:

Lol seriously, it's useless. You want a charismatic character? Put plenty of points into the Speech skill. Charisma does nothing for you other than slightly raise your starting levels in the Speech and Barter skills, and it's only passive ability is an increase in companion nerve (attack damage and damage threshold).

Edit: I'd go for something like this personally. +1 to everything after implants

STR- 5 (With weapon handling I'd be able to use the Anti-Materiel Rifle)
PER- 5 (Better Criticals perk)
END- 9 (Implant availability)
CHR- 1 (LOL)
INT- 9 (Skill points)
AGL- 2 (For minor VATS useage)
LCK- 9 (Better Criticals perk, increased critical chance)

I'd also take the Light Frame and Trigger Discipline traits. Perks would just be your standard fare really. Anything that increases critical chance/critical damage/accuracy. You know the drill lol.

Roleplay: do you speak it?

I think it makes a lot of sense for an assassin to be be able to project the impression of belonging and harmlessness. Also: frankly, the fact that you can raise skills to maximum levels while being utterly devoid of their basic stat is a bug in my opinion. Your SPECIAL should matter a heck of a lot more than it does in that regard.

For the original poster, you might look into the suppressed 12.7mm pistol, unless you really really like your 10mm. The larger weapon does *twice* as much damage and should be a one shot kill against anything human on a sneak attack crit. It also lets you carry the same ammunition to feed a 12.7mm SMG, which makes a great "panic button" if you're detected at close range.

Agility helps reloading and drawing speed of your weapons. I think that's handy for a hitman.

You should at least consider using melee and explosives as your secondaries. Mr. Sandman too.

Don't go crazy on Agility.

Your going to have trouble finding bricks of C4 and a Detonator. Im level 27 first playthrough, and I have only found 2 bricks and 1 detonator. So that could be a problem. You might want to use time bombs instead. They might be a pain to build or what ever, but if you plan on using explosives alot then finding C4 is gonna be apin.

On a side note, does Charisma really do nothing, i thought it affected how well you were at speech. So some one with 10 Charisma and 100 speech would be better than someone with 1 Charisma and 100 Speech, or does it not do anything as you say.

Im really confused, cause if thats the truth then I'm basically always wasting 1-2 possibly even 3 points on Charisma. OH NO

Put your most needed Special lower by one point, Then use the first two perks on Intense Training.

I did this, And am still doing it..

Well it WAS a silenced class..

Mister Sandman by the way, Is a lifesaver if you are siding with the NCR.

After a Khan... Its waaaaay more helpful against a certain faction.

BTW, Charisma at 10 with 100 Speech is the same as 1 Charisma with 100 speech, The Speech system is different then it was in FO3, And at whoever said finding C4 is a pain, Just head to Vault 34 and if you finish it, You're bound to get at least 3-4 cases of C4, and in a Cocktail lounge, there are about 2-3 C4 in a locked Briefcase.

Mick always sells C4 at higher levels. Buy it, save, exit to the main menu, reload your save, now his inventory is brand new, rinse and repeat until you have enough C4, or your broke.

actually charisma is directly linked to the ''nerves'' of your follower.... what it mean... the higher your charisma the more armor they will have and the more damage they will inflict... according to the official gameguide page 5!

but I'm the one who wants to make the kill! not my follower!
