The achievement is about recruiting all companions.
So, is it enough if you make them follow you once and leave them or get them killed?
Or do you have to gather them all in lucky 38 or something like that to get the trophy?

Recruit > Fire > Rinse > Repeat

As far as I know, I just recruited them all - it didn't matter what happened to them afterwards.

Just recruit them once, mine was bugged though. I told Raul to leave while in Ranger Andy's house on accident. I tried to get him back but accidentally talked to Andy. When I exited that convo, I told Raul to rejoin me while he was still in Andy's house... then the achievement unlocked. :blink::mellow:

This. Long as you've hired each of'em at least once, the rest is irrelevant.

In fact, I do believe I've read that you don't really have to hire'em "each, once" but that hiring one as many times as there are companions will work.

Yeah I kind of liked her at first. Wanted to keep her around.
