I got Violated by Bighorn at Repconn

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:24 pm

Its true :( I was walking past the Repconn building on my own no-one in sight, Suddenly I hear some crazy noise behind me and I got knocked through the air. Four pissed off bighorns appeared out of nowhere and rammed the hell out of me until I died, I couldnt run because they kept knocking me flying. Luckly I had a previous save to go back to but having never attacked a bighorn I had no idea how strong they are and that they can flip you up in the air.

Anyone else had this happen? I it a random encounter that they sneak up on you and attack?

Likely you walked too close to a herd of them... The advlts are almost always marked as hostile on the radar, but only attack you if you attack them, OR if you walk too close to the herd... Mayhaps they had even been pursuing you for a ways and didn't catch up until you stopped to look at the Repconn building (I play with headphones a lot and if I take them off for a while this can happen).

I didnt see anything on my marker and I always look forward and to the sides, sometimes behind but not as often. I think they must have been following me or something and only just caught me up. Ive been up close to them before and have never attacked me even when they have been red on my radar.

Yeah.. you usually havta get right in amongst them for them to pursue... Do you have any companions? I'm assuming: NO, but if you did, they coulda attracted the assault... Alternately, a frag mine you left lying around may have finally been stepped on by the Horner and combat initiated...

I use boone but he was not with me, I left him at my Safehouse Caravan. I dont use mines neither however you have give me an Idea to leave a shed load of mines around the fiend area and see if anything tracks me down later in the game.

Hence I love Animal Friend. However, I'm sick of cleaning the Big Horner dung off my combat boots :stare:

Yup, that what I like about the game. It's not random, you sparked something by getting to close to where they were. Fun stuff
