Quest Items Section

Is it only me or does anyone else think that the Pip Boy/Pimp Boy should have a quest items tab Or possibly a box/container in the lucky 38?

I think they should have a warning that it is a quest item but still allow you to drop it...that way if you lose it its your fault but if you don't want it you're not forced to carry it around.

Its so annoying I picked up allot of quest items after quest's are done Like the igniter fuel I used the Other things and have about 320 left in my inventory and I have the igniter fuel it just clutters things up

Same thing here. They need to go through and make sure that after the quest is done the items are no longer considered essential.

This !! Get rid of quest items when no longer needed, right now we can't even do it by dropping old junk

I wish they'd make quest items weightless, about 30lbs of my inventory is currently taken up with various quest items I've come across in my travels that I'll never be able to use or drop.

Also, perhaps even moreso than a quest items inventory tab, I'd like to have a crafting items inventory tab, so that players like me who completely ignore hand-made ammo etc. can look at their misc. items without having to root through a load of irrelevant junk.

I would have preferred being able to drop them after completion of the quest, I tend to use them for housing decoration.
Such as in Fallout 3,
Spoiler
I replayed all of Point Lookout just to get the Krivbeknih book mentioned in the Dunwich building.

I think miscellaneous is just too board for item sorting proposes, period.

It is bearable in FO3 because there isn't much crafting; but in NV, you have cards, brass/drain cells, weapon mods, and fifty ingredients for crafting.

Cards/Gambling tools should be in one category; then obvious crafting items like brass, drain cells, scrap metal, tools etc should be in one.

We also need a drug, food and other sub category for Aids.

Or even better, item sort in Pip-boy.

So basically the answer to a category with 150 items in it is to make 75 categories with a half-dozen items in each, which will improve things how?

We should be able to just drop those damn items. Seriously, I don't care if you didnt know it was a quest item, the fact that it has a unique pipboy icon and a special name should have been tip offs.

Like the big "If you proceed into this mission, the game WILL END" message is a tip off as to what's going to happen? :whisper:

I agree with you, but still...think about it. And think about what such an approach would be sentencing the forums, and the moderators, to. ;)

But people want "The Real Fallout Experience", that would be perfect, in the old Fallouts, you drop that quest item, you've squandered away any chance of completing that quest without cheating.

My God, man!
Can you imagine how much whining and crying would go on?!?

Just thinking about it made me spit out my coffee in hysterical laughter.
I had this image of some poor fool searching the Wasteland for Cook-Cook's head, muttering, "I know I dropped it here somewhere."

Hell, even if they add a giant flashing :shocking: WARNING :shocking: window for FO4, there will still be people going off in the forums because they can't finish a quest.
I'm afraid I'd have to make popcorn when I come to the forums, then.

Aye, while us cynical and careful with our items bastards sit in our ivory towers, the morons will be complaining despite there being a warning "IF YOU DROP THIS YOU MUST FIND IT WHERE YOU LEFT IT" they lost the item, and we? We shall be drinking of the glorious sodas and delicious misery of the illiterate.

I'd prefer that it be droppable, but the game record where you dropped it, make it persistent and plop a quest marker on it.

Then when you get to the right point in the quest you get a dialogue option that says "Oh, drat. I had one of those but I [sold it to XXXX/dropped it in Vault 38]. Guess I'll have to go get it back."

Courage wolf rebukes your puny girly man idea and says BE A MAN. FIND IT ON YOUR OWN.
