I am an strictly a TES: Oblivion player.

A couple of months ago I heard of a game name Fallout, oh yes, and later, my boyfriend let me borrow it saying that it's exactly like TES: Oblivion only with guns. I was absolutely stunded about how similar they are! But of course they're made by the same company, furthermore, I stopped playing it because I thought Oblivion was better, when New Vegas came out and I had the urge to buy and play it, BUT I don't know if I should....

Can you guys give me a couple of reasons to get New Vegas?
-Like, what it has that Oblivion doesn't have...
-Story line....
-Gameplay...
-The WHOLE Fallout series vs. TES: Series...<-----------
-Ect...

Are you playing Fallout:3 or Fallout:New Vegas? I don't find either one like TES games.

I'll just say this:

NV is more of a RPG than a sandbox game, whereas Oblivion has a huge emphasis on exploration rather than the stuff that NV focuses on.

I've played Fallout 3, but I'm deciding on whether I should get NV based on what I learned from posts to this thread.

I take it that base on ya avatar and ya sig, ya play Shivering Isle before. If so, remember how ya were able to pick side of insanity in the cities and security guards? New Vegas kind of does like that, but in a much bigger, and broader way, except ya more a puppet like those Seducers or Golden Saint rather than the being the big dog like the Mad God himself (though taking on becoming ya own player/top dog of the place is also a possible route).

As mention before, New Vegas is more emphasize on RPG and Story over exploration (though one can still do the exploration part as well).

There's a black friday sale going to happen where you can get FO:NV for liek 20, 30 bucks.

For that price it's a steal.

FO:NV sold me immediately and I greatly enjoyed the Oblivion series as well.

Though the gameplay is different a lot of the things Oblivion players missed about FO3 were re-added (like poisons on melee weapons and more extensive consumable crafting).

It's still lacking in some ways (IE oblivion's alchemy system is still vastly superior to the craftables in any FO game) but it's still a great game.

I think you should play New Vegas because if you love the Elder Scrolls you should appreciate the depth of the world. You know the way the world is actually alive and breathing and there's so much to discover, and all of the little things are so well thought out. I mean you can be in an old factory or office building and boot up a computer and there's a whole back story told through e-mails or journal entries which in a way is like all of the books you find in The Elder Scrolls.

The gameplay is a lot of fun. It's different, yet not that hard to get a hang of. I think Fallout 3 does a better job of getting you started, but if you basically know what you're doing New Vegas will be kind to you (but the people in it wont).

The story is wonderful and again very detailed with plenty of side quests that add to the overall story of the world.

You can't make a direct comparison between The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. The only thing you can say is that they're made by Bethesda (or in the case of New Vegas follows what Bethesda established with Fallout 3 admirably). It's sort of like Blizzard in a way. You know what to expect with Blizzard games. They may be different but when you play them you can tell they're Blizzard games and if you enjoy Blizzard you can find enjoyment in them all. When you play a Bethesda game you know it's a Bethesda game and if you tend to enjoy what they do you can't really go wrong.
