Boone Says He's Crippled... any fix?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:59 pm

Boone keeps whining to me that he can't feel his legs, and he's
obviously crippled. Yet his health is 100%.

He did go unconscious during battle and I'm assuming he was
crippled during this, and it's a bug?

I've placed Doctor's Bags, Stimpaks, etc in his inventory but no
avail.

Am I stuck with a whiny Boone now?

I got his legs crippled yesterday. Using a stimpack via the companion wheel fixed it up. :)

His health is 100% according to the wheel. He's fully recovered hit point wise.. I guess
I could try using a stimpack regardless... I didnt want to waste it if he was at full HP.

I've had this problem as well. Using a stimpack on him will fix it. If not then you can always kill him... Lol.

As mentioned above, a stimpack seems to do the trick.

This can sometimes be a bug. If he's at 100% health and refuses to take a stimpack despite claiming he's crippled, just hurt him a little to reduce his HP's then use a stimpack on him.

you could also try an antidote, I had the same problem with veronica as soon as I put in a antidote in inventory she stopped limping. thats if you were fighting any poisonous creatures.

as long as he can keep up with you while he's hobbling around, maybe you should let him stay crippled for the rest of the game.

happened to me last night. I punched him in the face till he passed out. He woke up, no crippled, and no negative effect to me. It was the only way to fix him for me....

Every time it happens he seems to reset to pristine condition AFTER the next fight you participate in. I think that resets him....as long as he does not sustain major trauma in the next fight as well.

Thanks for the tips, let Boone get into a another fight with me, and gave him a stimpak
after some damages, he's all better now.

I discovered unfortunately after the fact you cannot have Boone or any companion wait
in your Presidential Suite while you're doing other stuff - even sleeping! Bastard went
through some Nuka Cola Quartz's and ate a ton of food, I had an entire trunk of food
vanish when I returned from battle.

I fixed this issue by changing location or simply by knocking him unconscious and he comes back perfectly fine.

Hahah, yeah, they like to eat your food when suite-idle. Keep your food in a different location if you don't want that to happen.

Tried this mod that let them be idle while still actually hired...that was funny for a while. Snoozin' in the bunkbeds at CampMc.

Boone stole all of my weapons.
I was in horrible fear that the VIP suite was not a player safe house, as my weapons in the fridge (Don't ask why) had disappeared.
I become so enraged, I blow Boone's head off.
Turns out, he has them all.

Get into a small conflict, like a super mutant or maybe a few random wasters (DO NOT LET BOONE GET KNOCKED OUT) and after you exit combat he will be fine.....

This works with the 100% health cripples

Apparently if you give your companion food and drinks they wouldn't snatch snacks.......seems working for Cass who have 10 Whiskey and Gecko Steak; she doesn't eat them but she wouldn't get hungry either......

Oh? That's good to know. Not that I mind when they eat my food, since I never use it. I think it's funny.
I once made two huge piles in a room, one of food and one of whiskey/beer etc. Arcade & Craig would wander into the room every 5-10 seconds and snatch items off the floor, sometimes 3 or 4 at a time. The pigs. Craig seemed to prefer the alcohol pile and Arcade was a bit more conservative in his eating overall.
