Performance issues I guess?
And the bodies in FO3 respawned after 3 days, I think they do in New Vegas as well.
So even if they disappear you can go back and make a new one every three days. :D

There's a glitch in this game and in Fallout 3 where bodies will often disappear when you leave an area and then come back to it a short time later. Return the next day and the body will be there once more. And as someone pointed out, it also has to do with respawn time. I have respawn time set to two months, so bodies are always still there when I return to an area.

thankz for youre reply, i have the xbox360 version of FNV. i dont think i can set the respawn time on the console version. but i will try waiting a day... i always thought THAT was the coolest thing about F3. stacking up bodies! :-)

Use Energy Weapons for permanent Ash/Goo piles. It gets pretty stupid after a while, especially in places like Freeside.

ok i will try that after work. i want my bodies! in F3 you could stack up some bodies... then put some landmines underneath, and BAMM - watch them fly.

Yup.
Apparently it takes 3 days for animals, insects and humans to grow to full size again. :P
