When I get bored with a game I move on to one that does not bore me. That being said, I've yet to become bored with this game.

because gunplay is generally more interesting? :S lining up shots, choosing the right gun and ammo, that feeling and sound of firing off your favourite firearm :) of course to each his own, but maybe you're just built for guns : )

Guns is definitely more interesting if you're new to fallout. Even picking Energy weapons on the first go round in either this or FO3 would be a challenge to stick with it. Melee can pay off in the end in a big, big way. Right now I can one punch the toughest creatures out there from a standing position without sneaking. Bullets nearly bounce off and I can just run where I want to go. That said I still like carrying all the sniper rifles and carbines with me for some distance shooting.

mix it up, re-craft a character and try another build, there's a LOT to do so I don't know how you could be bored but it happens! :)

Gunplay is definitely more interesting than Melee combat in NV, which is pretty poor generally (was in 3 too, these games aren't Bayonetta or DMC or whatever). However, get your hands on a ballistic fist and not only willl you be amazingly over-powered, but combat will become downright hilarious as you launch your enemies into orbit as if they were skittles.

Melee IS BORING!!! There's as much point in playing melee in a FPS (note the first person SHOOTER bit??) as there is selling ice to Eskimo's.

It''s rubbish - don't do it.

Personally I'd rather be 100 yards away picking them off, but hey, if ball punching is how you like combat, then go for it.

I like melee, but I rarely go all melee. Usually I have some guns skill or explosives to mix it up and I almost exclusively use VATS with melee, because otherwise it is a little boring. Once I fixed the kill impulse of the two-handed melee weapons (they were all set to 0, definitely a mistake) in the geck so they actually make creatures fall back, it's been a little more fun for me.
