Great that there is a PATCH, BUT when do we get it? : Fallout: New Vegas

it is great that a patch is coming but can you be more exact on when it is coming....I can say I am going to buy a new car...never said when i was going to buy it...same is true here, you guys keeps saying the patch is coming, but you just won't say when we get it....

They won't say for a very simple reason.

What happens if they miss the date they give?

The forums get filled with threads about the patch being delayed and the Mods spend their time locking threads, redirecting to other threads and sighing in exasperation.

These things take time. If they never said anything about it until it was done, there would be people complaining that they have been silent. If they rushed it out without proper testing (as they apparently did with the last small patch), then the game could potentially become worse.

They've said they're working on it, and there's no reason to believe that they're procrastinating.

Until they have definite information, they aren't going to announce a date.

Talaran is right. We're getting to the finish line, but it's very hard to speculate on an exact date. A few weeks back I could have speculated on the date, and I would have been wrong. We typically only give updates when we have substantive info to share.

As mentioned previously, we should have an update soon on all three platforms (PC, 360, and PS3). Will they all come out at the same time? That's our hope. Keep in mind it's a different process to get the patch/update out on Xbox, PC, and PS3 (it's actually two process for PS3... Europe and North America).

Once the update starts becoming available, we'll let everybody know. We'll share details in the pinned threads (across in FNV General Discussion and in the support boards), as well as on the blog.
