Fire.

I was walking up to Nipton on my Rochester Smochester playthtough (Which is doing well!) and i used my incinerator on Oliver from afar to save time. so I talked to Vulpes and he left, and I went to mercy-kill the crucified PG's, i used my incinerator on them for the funnies. I was slightly bothered by how they only grunted at the moment of ignition, even though they were burning for a few seconds. I tested this on other PG's at the NCRCF and the same thing.
Does fire not hurt after the war? Is it FEV/"Radiation magic" making people this tolerant to pain?

ive always disliked how little damage fire dealt in this game, i mean, for the love of god, its FIRE, it burns you alive, if you get lit fully ablaze, youre going to be WAILING ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wi1pw07sAqk ) fire is indeed pretty gimped in this game, infact, practically all explosives are, except C4, which is quite overpowered, (or overcommon, whicher you want to argue about)

On a related topic, I think it's funny that you can stand in the fires at for example the Gomorrah or in Nipton, and not take any damage at all.

Try hopping onto the bonfire in Nipton.

(Proof that fire doesn't hurt :P)

Yet in....I have no idea where it is, New Vegas Steel or something, there is some sort of, I guess molten steel, and that burns you. The inconsistency really irritated me. The big fire in Nipton could have at least burned, since didn't the Mayor get hung up and burned to death in it?

One can even walk through the wall of fire towards before you go to the Legate Camp, if you sided with NCR. Maybe it's not really "fire" but "Showbiz Fire", so it doesn't hurt at all.

How to build fake fire?

You people are so slow

Isn't it obvious that Tamriel and Post War America's universes collided, producing cross universe trading, and every Wastelander purchased fire resistance potions from the Mages Guild?

Then I do find myself wondering how the Jet addicts of Tamriel are holding up... :cryvaultboy:

Dropping one addiction for another. The people of the Wastes thought Jet was bad, that was until Skooma started becoming the biggest party drug, then the addictions rose. :sadvaultboy:

New Vegas Steel, near the Fiend Territory.

What I have noticed is the molten steel knocks you on your butt. Maybe that is the reason that the fire does not hurt. I have walked through a fire once when I was younger and suffered no ill effects, after I rolled around a bit, so it is concievable that one could approach or go through a fire without getting hurt.

What someone should not be able to do is stand in a fire and not get hurt.

I've stood on top of the burning barrels in Freeside, run through the murder fires in Nipton, and even stood in the burning bowl things at Gomorrah, and no affects what-so-ever.
