Favorite Armor

So, the topic is pretty self explanatory: What is your favorite New Vegas armor...any faction, any type, any armor at all.

Ranger Veteran or the black Van Graff combat armor. Reinforced leather is pretty sweet too.

It's not the strongest but I like the Leather Armor, regular or reinforced. It's light, it looks good and is easy to find parts for repair. Next would be Recon Armor.

The Veteran Ranger Combat Armor looks so great but I'd wear it without the headgear.

Added: Bounty Hunter Duster!

For companions, reinforced combat armor (black, 17DT). But I don't like the MarkII (20DT) version at all, even tho the changes aren't drastic.

For myself...um...well I think most of the non-clothing ones look rather terrible on female characters, but the reinforced leather or black 15DT combat armors are ok. For clothing...anything will do, but I like the Wasteland Wanderer and the Merc Adventurer.

Advanced Power Armour and Centaurian Armour. The former should be obvious, the latter just looks badass, even if I hate to admit it.

I like using Veronica's Robes when I play a stealthy type character. I have taken a liking to just the ranger casual outfit now though with a pair of authority glasses and grey hat even though it glitches a lot.

1. Roving Trader Outfit: It's not really armor, but I just love the way it looks.

2. NCR Ranger Combat Armor: I never liked the look of any of the armors in previous Fallout games, but I really like the way the RCA looks. While exploring or just using scoped weapons, I play in 3rd person. I wish it didn't have those annoying clipping issues with weapons.

3. Bounty Hunter Duster: It's like a good middle ground for me. It doesn't weigh that much, so I can still move really fast. It's also got more protection than the RTO. I just wish there were more of them in New Vegas.

Out in the wastes, I currently use the Reinforced Leather Armor. I always thinks it's more important how you look than how good your clothes/armor protects you (also why I svck at other RPG's). Also, together with the armor I have a bandana, authority glasses, scarf (mod) and a backpack (mod) together with a moidfied varmint rifle on the back, gives you that aweome wasteland wanderer feel traveling in 3rd person.

Other than that, I think the Roving Trader Outfit is pretty neat, and I also used the Wasteland Wanderer Outfit for when I tried a Jayne Cobb character (but I just couldn't do it without his Cunning Hat) and sometimes when I feel a bit cowboy-ish, I use the Duster.

On The Strip you gotta dress fancy though, so I either wear Benny's suit, or a Dappler Gambler Suit + hat

Merc Charmer on my female character. Once she got high level and really kind of overpowered I switched to merc charmer with a mod that kicks the DT up to 4. Before that it's reinforced CA Mk 2.

Combat Armor Reinforced Mk II, because it has a high DT and it looks sweet. Also I want to see how the Remnants Power Armor is, as it has a whopping 38 DT (with the helmet).

Forgot about that. Merc Charmer looks fantastic on a female char.

Quick question. Will your reputation with a faction increase while wearing that factions armor? So let's say I'm wearing the NCR Ranger Combat armor. I'll be Neutral with the NCR. However, if I do quests for them, will I stay at neutral?

Merc armour, I tried charmer as it's my fav for a lot of characters, but my latest Tribal trader build went for Merc Veteran and legion explorer / recruit hood.

Old wasteland trapper brahmin skin outfit or pre war spring outfit, with a hat and glasses, looks like sargent jones from dads army?.

Khans are my favourite armour in looks and DT Vs weight, but the faction hatred of everyone is too anoying.
I stopped of at places were the people when not digused are at best cautious to cool towards NCR in dialogue, and everyone turned hostile when in disguse.
Meaning a fair few neutrals are infact flagged as NCR?.

Armour I use most, leather and armoured leather, and Metal I really like the metal armour.

No you'll not get any increase on most factions as disguses hide them on the pip boy, and will just start over fresh with their reputation level untill you remove the disguse.
Reputation loss however I think stays, and builds.

Gotta agree with the Roving Trader Outfit. From a role-playing perspective, it is hands-down the coolest looking piece of clothing in F03 and F:NV. Makes me wish I was on PC so I could mod the thing with a little DT and higher CND. Wearing it into combat is painful, but DAMN I look good.

I haven't done the remnants power armor yet, but according to what I've seen on the internet, it is pretty sweet looking. I'm saving that play-through for after the patch when energy weapons get un-nerfed so I can be a wanna-be Enclave really devoted fan with a full suit of power armor and a plasma rifle! :fallout:

As far as good-quality armor that's easy to obtain goes, I like the Van Graff combat armor. I mean, it's tough, and being basic black, it looks slick as well. My last playthrough, I let Mr. Suicide Bomber take out the Silver Rush, then looted all the guards for their armor and plasma guns (and looted the store too). That way, my Confirmed Bachelor character and his companion (Arcade, of course) were able to traipse about the wasteland wearing matching outfits.

For serious combat, of course, nothing beats the Enclave Remnant Power Armor. That plus Toughness and maybe Nerd Rage, and your character becomes a two-legged tank.

1. T51-b Power Armor and Helmet (DT 25, Rad Resistance, but it really makes you run slow with 2 Agility)

2. NCR Ranger Combat Armor, or as most people call it: Veteran Ranger Armor (I use it only to infiltrate the NCR Camps, like MacCarran)

3. Benny's Suit and Veteran Ranger Helmet (For Vegas) (It might look stupid to everyone else, but I think it looks awesome)
