Like many people I turned off the in-game radio after it started repeating songs with absurd frequency. The developers claim it's too expensive to have a real variety of music in the game. It's certainly true that royalty-free music is very expensive. But for less than the price of a single game, an internet radio subscription gets you a full year of music! In the recent "Elvis" topic I suggested listening to a Pandora station of Fallout friendly music in the background while playing the game. This is a thread for making a list of artists or songs that meet your subjective "Fallout friendly" criteria.

Yeah, Pandora is great to listen to in place of the radio stations. I find that anything from the Anderson Sisters fits perfectly with the Fallout world, although their music is primarily from the 30's and 40's.

The original sound tracks from fallout 1 and 2 For some Mark Morgan goodness.

Anything by Ennio Morricone fits perfectly with the vibe of New Vegas (and Fallout 3, to a lesser extent) IMO.

The Music in Fallout itself in my opinion has a huge impact on the player themself. I love it when your walking around in Vault 87 or Metro Central Listening to GNR 40's/50's music.Or in FO:NV When your exploring around listening to 'Big iron'! If it was not for the music I do not think fallout would be the same!

That's a good list, but in order to add it I have to know the artists! A lot of the classic songs have been arranged different ways. And how does that mod avoid copyright infringement? U.S. copyright is Life+75.

You must not have played the first games, Because they did'nt have radio's.

'Big Iron' is the only decent song on the radio imo.

I would like to hear some of the original music playing on the radio I could always get a mod but I really don't see whats so taboo about having songs from other fallouts?

You may (of course) know this already, but your post seems to imply not... The old Fallout 1 & 2 tracks ship with FO:NV and are played as ambient tracks in all sorts of locations.

So wasn't there a bug where the game wasn't playing all the music on the radio?

Yes, that particular bug seems to be fixed according to PC and PS3 users. I personally cannot comment though, because I am running Xbox360 and we haven't gotten our version of the patch yet.
