You can always wear their faction armor when you approach them or are in the area they are known to be.

actually I am liked by the powder gangers and I helped them in goodsprings and we took over. I am in good terms with them. when I check my map it says liked at all camps around goodsprings and that sky diving place, but some areas have hostile powder gangers. which is dumb

it needs to be changed or they need to be removed.

I don't think all of the Powder Gangers are necessarily all part of the same "faction", per se. Yes, they're all "Powder Gangers", just because they all came from NCRCF, but due to their fragmented nature, I don't think they're all connected. Each small group of Powder Gangers seems to be on their own program, I don't think they really care what the other groups are doing because it doesn't concern them.

EDIT: But really...Powder Gang is small-time. Who cares. There's not really a benefit to killing them or not, they're a tiny blip on the Mojave.

Yeah your liked as long as you stay away. There hostile in the same way bighorns bulls may be hostile they don't actually attack until you get rather close. Unlike say fiends or vipers and such

The guard of the Correctional warns you that some of the encampment are hostiles no matter of you are even idolized, even the one you helps in Goodsprings warn you, an after we have the Vault Podwer Gangers, its not a bug, it something that its supposed to be

You helped them at Goodsprings? I've been wanting to try that out but I can't find a motivation/reason to betray the town that nursed my char back to health. Just haven't been able ot find a way to rationalize it.

It's like an RP road block. :D

Not sure about that. If you kill those Powder Gangers, the ones right outside of Goodsprings, it will be negative karma towards that faction. That head Powder Gang dude, the one in the beginning of the game, that wants to kill and take over the town, he even says that the other guys aren't like his crew. They will kill you. I don't think it is a bug, not that you mentioned a bug, just in response to the original poster.

Maybe a glitch.

My current character is idolized by the NCR, but attacked by them at Trading Post 188. I can kill them all, and still remain idolized.

This, I suspect, is not as intended.

They "let" Benny and his thugs walk away Scot Free after murdering you. And that Doc guy, what did he do to you while you were unconscious? And what gave him the right to go through your stuff anyway...

I think you have to call a truce with the Powder Gangers at the NCRCF Visitors' Center before the guys stop shooting at you on the road.

Hmmm. While it's a bit thin, you may have given me something I can work with. Especially the Doc/unconcious angle. That could be a strong jumping off point, especially for a female char.

Thanks!

Do you guys not read the "how to's" when you first start. Read the faction armor guide when you put on your first piece of faction armor. It specifically says that you blend in with whatever faction armor you wear, BUT there are some that you cannot trick such as guards and something else.. So no matter what there are always a few [censored]es out there that will spot you out.

I have always hated this stupid fact of faction armor because when you use the NCR facewrap how in the [censored] could they tell that its you know you?

You.Cannot.Have.Your.Cake.And.Eat.It.Too

Pick Dress-up dolls or disguises that prevent you from being shoot by the people that you pissed off ... and its NCR Face Wrap ARMOR, I suppose the TWO HEADED BEAR on the briastPLATE kinda gives the impression that the person wearing it is a NCR Trooper.

Funny, I had the exact same though (only reverse gender) when I looked at that widget as saw the default male character. :)

The powder gangers are divided into sub-factions i guess. The "Main group" in the NCRCF isn't hostile unless you really piss them off, the "sub factions" are hostile probably because they're looking for supplies to sell or something like that. So you didn't do anything wrong nor is it a bug, the "sub factions" are just antisocial =\

I started a playthrough where the shot to the head made me deranged and a simple thing like people being to nice to me made me flip out and want to kill them then Joe Cobb came around and taught me its better to be dead than be controlled by someone else. So eventually I plan on becoming queen of the Mojave. It was really the only thing I could think of making my explosives build around but it's been fun so far and I plan to start it up again.

But in my current playthrough I have an issue where I am wearing Powder Ganger armor but when I go to enter the NCRCF Dawes will not talk to me but appears friendly until I go up and talk to him then he attacks me. Is this a glitch and I'm screwed as far as doing the PG quest or is there a way to get around this issue.
