Favourite Location in New Vegas

Post » Wed May 11, 2011 3:54 am

What's your favourite location in New Vegas? It could be a cave, a town, some ruins, anything.

For me, it's the 188 Trading Post. The view there is quite scenic, and there are 2 (3, maybe :hubbahubba:) traders there, as well as beds and NCR soldiers wandering around, keeping the peace. The only time I avoid the 188 is when I'm playing as a Legion character. It's peaceful, scenic, and lively.

BoS bunker, because i like the BoS

If only they created a fortification above hidden valley after the lockdown lifted or something, that would be great

... I want more BoS :P

Lake mead cave. It was so colorful and peaceful swimming around amongst the underwater plants and cave flora glowing, with nothing attacking me for a change. Also some hard to come by .45-70 ammo and lots of pre-war money. For those who havent gone spelunking in this cave i highly recommend it as a vacation from the wastes. ( just remember to back your rebreather!)

Red rock canyon.
Khans, trade, scenery hard to get to on some paths, the tents, the outfits.

Man I love psychotic hippy chicks strapping heavy calibre weapons, wearing tight cutoffs strolling along.

Red rock canyon NV's hot spot.

( This has been a Mojave tourist board presentation, brought to you by Madoc, the best a scav can get ).

Same for me! I love swimming around it. It's a different experience from the game (as opposed to walking around in the desert). Unfortunately, no mutated sharks included.

Goodsprings one of the best designed (from a realistic lore and world builiding perspective. Well, naturally except for limited population) settlements in the entire Fallout universe

All are neutral to me. Settlements were designed very badly and other locations...Maybe vault 11 single most awesome place in the game

I like Wolfhorn Ranch. It has a shack with water and a farm and Bighorners nearby, which is all my wandereer needs, commands great views in all directions, it is isolated yet not too far to get to a settlement, and there are plenty of things to do around it. Battles between NCR and Legion, roaming Vipers, a caravan route passes by. I think a small town may eventually build itself around this location as a haven of some sorts (thanks to RTS and Wasteland Defense).

I fell in love with this place after finding it, liking the scenery, then while going down the eastern slopes I stumbled across an NCR-Legion battle. I watched, hiding in the raided farmstead caravan. Then I noticed a few gunshots getting too close. So I turn around and see Vipers approaching, taking shots at me. I pull out my cowboy repeater and have a small seige. Eventually I take down the last viper with my trusty lead pipe as she tries to storm my location. Low on health and supplies, I loot the Vipers in time to watch the final NCR trooper die at the hands of the Legionaries. So I descend on the battlefield and start looting the NCR and Legion dead, when all of a sudden a huge pack of nightstalkers (at midday...) pop out from behind a rock and maul me and the two remaining Legion recruits. I love this place...

the vault with the massive armory in it(can't remember the number).

nothin' like a fully stocked armory to exploit to your own well-being.

Red Rock Canyon for the view, (both the landscape and the Kahn girls :hubbahubba: )

Freeside for the action :gun: :ahhh: and its close to Vegas

The big horn ranch somebody else mentioned here. Sit up on the hillside with a snipers rifle and you'll find no shortage of targets to practice on. lol

I second the 188 trading post, I always look forward to my first visit there with a new character.
I also love Goodsprings, wish there was more to do there so I could justify hanging around for longer.
Really there are a lot of great locations in the game.

Sounds awesome, I wish that happened to me. First time I went there, I didn't notice the Legion attack, but I slowly crept up the hill from cover to cover to the Ranch thinking it was guarded. The second time, I was playing a Legion character so I aided the Legion in their ambush.
