Before the game came out they talked about multiple currencies like they would be used, but the only places I have found you can use them are the casinos, even the guy in the legion camp only accepts caps.Is there some place I'm missing?

Yes your missing them in your inventory, when your set to display your entire inventory you can find the NCR and Legion money.

A mechanism to use the Currency as you do caps when bartering is what you are looking for.

What you have to is Trade the other Currencies just like anything else you sell, then make up the difference with Caps.

I meant a place that exclusively accepts Legion or NCR money instead of selling that money and making up the difference in caps.

Its pretty much just the same as loot. Since using money is technically bartering anyways, you just trade the currencies for the trader/shop's items like you would a pack of ciggarettes or a fission battery.

I looked for that place the first time through the game. Never found it.

I'd compare the currencies in the game to the Euro when it was first introduced, or to Canadian currency in some US-Canadian border states. The real currency is caps, but governments are trying to introduce new forms of currency that people use as well. And in the end, everyone gets confused and just accepts anything shiney or numerical.

There someone working on a mod for this, but it's not in the game.

It's pretty silly that it's so static and simple.
I mean not even a legion or NCR vendor that values their own currency higher than caps? No merchant that accepts primarily faction money, but might take caps if you can't make it.

Maybe there will be an add on in NCR or legion territory that primarily uses faction money. But its sorta weird that the only place faction money is accepted are the casinos and like I said not even the vendor in the legion camp accepts legion money.

That really surprised me. I figured as insular as the Leqion is, they would have had currency prejudices that would have precluded taking caps or NCR money in trade.

This was done poorly imo. You should have been allowed to convert money at the casinos and at major outposts, like McCarren and the fort although only into the currency of the faction operating the outpost and only from caps. That way the legion would only accept their money and the same for the ncr and you could convert it between currencies. The currencies should also have their value changed depending on which faction you start to side with. If you make the ncr stronger their money should have more value vs legion coins just to have a gameplay effect

On E3 they talked about different currencies like they would actually be used to buy stuff and I was disappointed when the only reason to have it is to turn it in for casino chips.
