Now due to unforeseen circumstances I am living with family for a few months in the Caribbean and for boredom's sake I brought along my Xbox. A couple of weeks ago I started up the game, downloaded a patch and was able to finish it (though the system still crashed during the end cutscene the first time round).
A few days later I decided to download the Dead Money Add-on and started the game up. Every single time I try to initiate the DLC by approaching the radio, the gas is released and the character collapses. The loading screen appears for about 7 seconds and then I am presented with a black screen and a completely unresponsive xbox.
In order to rectify this problem I have sent an email to Xbox support (who are useless) and have yet to get back to me. While waiting I decided (in optimistic ignorance) to download the Honest Hearts DLC and play through that. Wouldn't you imagine the pleasure I felt when after telling the caravan leader that I'm ready to go the exact same thing happens! EVERY TIME!
Now look, I love fallout, I'm really not into games and I only own a few and I find most boring. But fallout is a work to be marvelled and I'm astounded by the abilities and imagination of the staff that made it work albeit with glitches. But I've had enough; I've now spent 1600 Xbox points on two products that are broken. Surely by now with all the bad press you guys have been getting over the bugs in the New Vegas game itself you would have learned not to release a product that has not been fully tested. I do not care how many people have no problems, this is bad customer relations and should be fixed immediately, in fact the DLC's should in all honesty be withdrawn, fixed and redistributed. You should not be selling a failed, broken, incomplete product. I do not care if it is E-D's fault and I need to revert to an older save, that is not an acceptable response from an esteemed company such as Bethesda or Obsidian. If I am buying a product at full price then the product should not be in any way detrimental to my experience or cause me problems or require me to go out of my way in order to play it. I should not have to revert back to an earlier save, this is not my problem. It is the software developers.
Get this sorted, or I will demand my money back and my view of the companies involved will be severely damaged.
