ok so i have finally finished my mod i saved it to my data folder but when i go in there i cant find it and when i click data files when i start the game its not in that menu... but i can still open it in the geck. and before i tried to make my mod before but i didnt do active folder at the begining and it showed a lock over it and the others saves i made for it when i tried saving. so what do i do make it visible in the folder and data file menu in game? (this time i redid the whole thing this and made it active file every time i saved) :/

I figured out how to fix this. If any one is having the same problem this is what you do:
1) open geck
2) load the nv masterfile or whatever
3) save it
4) look for the mod with the lock on it
5) copy and paste it in the data folder it will say [your mod name] - copy something like that
6) now delete the copy
7) close geck
8) go to the recycle bin and you will see the copy will not be locked any more
9) now drag the copy back into the data folder it will appear to have disappeared dont worry just look for a file with a random name that is the copy you made just it has been renamed for some reason
10) rename the file if you want
11) start game and click on data files and see if it's in the list with the master file or other mods you have downloaded and click to activate it in game
12) start the game and see if the mod you made works
hopes this helps to any body with the same problem i had
