Be Objective **

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 12:11 pm

As derphead as I am, I can't seem to complete this challenge. If anybody would like to help out that'd be tops.

I find I usually get stuck trying to finish off the hackbox, I get lit up without any of my teammate bots helping out and rarely throwing me a revive.

It's also odd that at the end of the challenge the enemy bots are at 5k+ each in points while my team are at sub2k. Confusingz.

It's the general concensus that Be More Objective 2 Star is the hardest mandatory challenge.

I can't help you though, being on the PC. Sorry.

Try this with a high level Engineer/Operative Hybrid! Max out Engineer and get a bunch of Operative Stuff. Use a light body type for speed since you will die a lot and this body gives you the speed to recover out of spawn and plant a quick HE charge as a soldier. I use a Kross Smg and a Bolgo Machine pistol. Have you unlocked the duct tape mags? Use those if you have or even better, high capacity mags.

Hack part is the toughest especially after all the work you did! Get into a habit of cooking all grenades before throwing by holding on to them until they click a couple times. (This will knock down larger groups of enemy under and around the stairs where the Bots gravitate.) Setting up a turret to the far left side of the map facing the hack before you switch to operative is one strategy worth trying. Another is finding a disguise to allow you to approach the enemy and get them from behind. Get the hack box on then run towards the command post and all the way around this part heading back towards your spawn then towards the hack box. You do not have to stand next to the hack box to do hacking. At least one enemy will try to remove the hack box. As you loop around the command post heading back towards the hack get ready to shoot this fool bot engineer! Then start hacking again by running back around the command post back towards the hack. Do you know what I mean? You are running a short circle to get in cover but stay close and get ready for engineers. Usually after you kill this bot engineer, get close to the hack box. Engineers on the bots are the ones you are looking out for mostly, look for the small icon over their head and kill them. Then hack. Also, you need to take a couple chances with your A.I. team mates: let them throw you a revive rather than respawn if you started the hack and got knocked down. The enemy A.I. seems to be programmed to immediately remove your hack to penalize you if you respawn. Don't respawn once you started hacking unless you watch all of your Medic team mate A.I. get knocked down. Let them toss you a revive. This is critical. I really think there is a mistake many make not waiting for a revive once you start the hack.

Make sure to make good use of SMART when Light. On the ground floor are random boxes near the complex and you can climb as a Light to reach the second floor quickly. Look everywhere for possible SMART moves - They won't be obvious.

Im on the xbox, so I could help if you still need it.

Maybe I'm weird but I beat all 3 difficulties on my first try of course the AI on the enemy team was just as bad as my teammates so that helped.

All valid points thanks.

I gave it another try on a fresh character and aced all 3 objectives, seems that at level 20/rank 5 the enemies are a touch overtuned.

There are quite a few long and drawn out threads on the subject that might have the advice you seek to help you through it.

Popular opinion is that it's easier to complete it with a fresh character becasue the enemy bots are lower in level and don't behave as aggresively.

Once you place the hack box go behind that pillar so you're near your Command Post and do half circles around the pillar, peeking out at the general direction of the hack box on each end to keep the enemy a.i. focused on you. Just keep hacking unless the enemy engineer tries to pull it, in which case get in there and kill him (and make sure he's dead to keep him from being revived).

As for the enemy getting more XP, they're set to defend objectives and are always near them so they earn a lot more XP than yours will.

You have to do the challenges on your own to unlock weapons, attachments and acheevs. Plus adding another human player makes it alot harder

The challenges are a lot easier the lower your characters lvl is.

What you wonna do is make a new character just for the challenges.
- Keep him at lvl1 with the Battle Hardened ability.
- Every time you get to lvl 2, sell your abilities to go back down to lvl 1.
- Tower Defence is the hardest. So i'd do them 1st
- Be Objective next, then Escort Duty, then Parkour This

Congrats, dude.

That is the most dependable tactic for completing that challenge on all three stars.... doing it with a fresh character. This, of course, kind of proves that the AI is programmed pretty ridiculously in Brink, but HEY.. whatever works, right?

If you find yourself at level 20, again, and wanting to get past that hackbox objective, try being a bit irrational and just sprinting in to suicide plant the hackbox (after clearing out an enemy or two), then dash for the command post around the corner to hide while hacking. If you get killed, just keep trying that until you get a knack for it OR (dare I say) you get a little lucky.
