There be spoilers here. You've been warned.

I'm having a bit of a dilemma on my first play through. I got as far as meeting house and confronting Benny before I started over (with a different build). Now, I'm in Primm, and have to choose a sheriff and it's a tough choice, based on choices that are only going to get tougher. That is, I don't like anyone in this game. In previous games, there were good guys and bad guys, so if you wanted to take the high road, you had options. In NV, not so much. Let's see:

1) Mr. House - Citizen-Kane-esque egomanic that manipulates NV like a puppetmaster.

2) Omertas/Chairmen/White Gloves - Scumbags, greasy scumbags, and psycho scumbags

3) NCR - fascists

4) Boomers - pyromaniac fascists

5) BOS - secluded infighting fascists with laser weapons

6) Legion - crazy, sociopathic larping fascists

At one point, I was asking myself what would be best for New Vegas, but then I realized they're all a bunch of [censored] anyway so I'm not sure if I care. There isn't even a good underdog to support. So maybe I should just support the Boomers, let them raze NV so we could all start from scratch...maybe with a nice little village that has all one needs for simple living, minus perhaps a GECK.

Getting back to Primm, it's a choice between NCR, a vigilante ex-con that will end up being a puppet of NCR, and a really corny robot. I'm kinda leaning towards the robot. If anyone is a victim in NV, it's the robots. Think about it. Victor and Jane are pawns of House; Yes-man to Benny; and that poor, poor, Protectron turned six-bot for the Atomic Wrangler.
