Hey Beth,

I see that you're aware of the charachter loss issue on the PC version of your recently released Brink game. I have some further information for you. I've lost rank 4 (and some levels) twice tonight. The first time was after a server crash, I decided to redo my abilities to finish off the challenges and after reseting my character abilities (to respread them) I was no longer able to purchase the new abilities, and had lost ability points. Incidentally, I still had the "voodoo face paint" even though the option was locked. I not only lost (Tuesday 7th) tonight's progress thus far, but also progress from last friday night (sydney time) as well. All up about 3-4 XP levels lost.

I did those challenges, then returned to a versus server and leveled back up to rank 4 again. I was all set to call it quits, went to use my new ability points and again reset my ability points (thinking the previous mixup was from the server crash), which promptly lost me access to the rank 4 abilities again. Oh and I noticed I was back to level 14 again. Needless to say, this is rather annoying. I just wanted to add that the charachter corruption can also happen when reseting abilities (I think if you reset after just leveling while still having points available, not eager to retest that and level a third time tonight). I would also have leveled a couple times before going to spend the points (on both instances). Not sure if that is also linked or not.

My PC copy is registered and installed through Steam (but not purchased there).

PC: Intel q6600, 4GB Corsair Dominator 1066MHZ Ram, Asus ATI 5850 GPU.
Software: Windows Vista 64bit (fully patched up), Steam (fully patched up), PC Brink (fully patched up).
