Why? Because it seems everyone is content as playing as Resistance and defending on Aquarium, Terminal, CCity and Shipyard...of which the maps defend themselves. Resistance wins 61% on Aquarium, 63% on Terminal, 71% on CCity and a staggering 74% on Shipyard. Whereas Security wins 64 and 68% on Refuel and Sec Tower. What's this translate to? They made it WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to easy to defend on a majority of Resistance maps. More so then it is defending on Security. So a vast majority of players are content with playing as Resistance, and butchering Security on the above mentioned maps for easy wins and XP. Even in an even match up of 8v8 human users, Resistance hold a significant advantage on the above maps due to their design, and the distance between their spawn and the primary objectives compared to Security's. Hell, even in some of the Security maps, Resistance's spawns are closer to the objectives then Security. (Example, Sec Tower's conduit. They turn the corner, jump over a few barriers and they're their, whereas Security have to traverse stairs, slopes and inclines. Almost always you have to push the initial Resistance surge back before you can set up proper defenses.)
It kinda saddens me that majority of people would rather pad their stats on easy maps rather then challenge themselves on the other side of the fight. And to that end, Resistance is going to keep on winning. Because it takes virtually no effort to win defending as Resistance. But as a dedicated Security player, I'll keep on fighting the odds. I actually win on those maps, PVP or Vs. AI between 40-60% of the times I play. But that's not even remotely enough of a difference to change the balance.
