Community Game Nights

Post » Sat Jun 11, 2011 5:54 am

Hi, I started a thread over at Splash Damage Forums, but would also like to get Bethesda forum members onboard too (the more the merrier). We are trying to start up some Community Game Nights. I am on Xbox and we could also gets some folks to lend a hand on the other two platforms PS3 and PC. Some of the Devs even join in on matches on Steam on their Lunchbreak. Keep in mind they're in the UK. We could have several rooms with as many people who want to play for fun and a challenge. We could post the results of the night's game. Such as Resistance won the night. Or Security took the crown this week. That sort of thing. I am trying to set this up with some forum members, so let me know If you'd like to help out or if you have some ideas on how we can do this. The games do not necessarily have to be Private games; but if we can get enough full rooms, that'd work well. Stopwatch is a mode that'd work well because both sides get a chance to defend, and the best time wins. Figuring out the best time to play will be tricky, but the more we have playing the easier it will be. One person recommended 8:30pm-11:00pm EST. Any ideas?

Leave a message below, and I will start maybe by making a list of group members who'd like to act as a host. You can also post your gammertag and what platform you play on?

Great idea! I am availaible at those exact hours, usually, and would definitely be down to help organize or just participate in matches. I play this game a lot on the 360, my gamertag is Jon 62491. Also, you asked about helpful ideas. I feel that if we get enough people to participate in this, enough for multiple games at once, we can then find players with similiar interests, play styles, strategies, teamwork, and people who may get along with each other better than others. I know we don't need to talk to each other in game to do this, but I'm a social gamer, what can I say? I like to talk to people when I play with them, but I also like them to want to talk to me as well, ie intelligent, or funny people. I just want to play this game with some cool people damnit.

Awesome. I always use a Mic. I am on 360 as well. my gammertag is wolfnemesis75. I will start up a list of those interested. Once we have enough people, we can plan one night to start so that we can iron out the bugs and such. We will try to keep this mostly about having fun. But also, part of the Game Night can also be doing Campaign Hard Mode. We don't have to do just Stopwatch. We can do other modes as well.

Thanks for the FR. I have quite a few people very excited about joining in! We are planning on running some games tonight starting at 7pm EST and going to 11pm. Just to work out how we can do this and what not.

great thread wolfnemesis.

The ps3 community has been pretty active in game nights so far from my experience , ipeaches setup a open chatroom thru psn where player can get dropped into games with full teams ,5v5,2v2 , just gotta ask for an invite to an active game.

If you're a ps3 user and having trouble finding full games or want to play with legit players and people from the forums you can add other players from >> http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1195260-post-your-ps3-name/page__st__80 << or ask for an chatroom invite on this thread and we'll send you one.
i'f you're active on the other brink forums please link others to the chatroom so we can expand the community.

so far games have been fairly full from 9pm-2am , but i have had some really good games with people from the forums and others but the more members the better to find games.

Yea, great idea Wolfnemesis. I am down to play on 360. I am on in the evenings between 5-11pm central. My head set has been acting wonky so I need to pick up a new one. GT Figment007.

We had some fun games last night with Forum members! We'll have to plan another night to play and get more people involved!

***WARNING REAL STUPID QUESTION COMING UP***

I have to ask this but am I right or wrong in thinking that Xbox, PC and PS3 players can actually play each other cross platform?
