Wondering What It's Like?

Since they are the creators of "The Elder Scrolls" I get excited about anything Bethesda are associated with.

However since "Rogue Warrior" and "Wet" some of us have become a little wary when Bethesda is simply handling publishing honours.

I have to admit that I was initially turned off this titel by gameplay previews which I felt were a little dull and uninspiring. Then many internet review sites are giving the game a low score.

But the people I knew who had the game kept telling me it was really fun to play so on the strength of that I went and made the purchase.

I am SOOO glad I did.

What a great game.

Though Kotaku has told us this game is like "Gears Of War" apart from using the Unreal Engine and the "A" button for the cover system the game has more in common with "Fable", "Resident Evil 5" and "Enslaved" than Epic's flagship.

Whereas "Bulletstorm" gave us the gears boys in different costumes if it wasn't for the big fat Unreal Engine logo at the beginning of the game you wouldn't immediately make the GOW connection.

The Combat is like "Fable" but without the cartoonish graphics and atmosphere. There are even Demon Doors and Chickens to smite into feathery messes.

The Coop is like "Resident Evil 5" but with an AI partner who is actually useful, keeping out of the way while you enjoy yourself and giving you appropriate buffs and boosts. In single player yoru partner behaves more like Tripp from "Enslaved" than Carmine from Gears.

This is a really fun dungeon crawler. Instead of having to mircro manage an inventory of 100+ items you simply worry about your melee weapon, your ranged weapon and your shield.

The game takes away a lot of the extra stuff (which admittedly many players including myself enjoy) but rather than making you feel that you've been stripped of options, a little like "Mass Effect 2", it seems like the player is free to get on with the fun stuff.

It's different and it works well. This game is definately worth checking out and giving a deeper look than a number of "professional game reviewers" seem to have given it.

It is....well, if you combine Cover-based thirdperson action, 2 player(s) modern Co-Op, Dungeon crawl, Loot system, Gaining gold and unlock, Rich world of dark fantasy, Mysteries, Spirit guide, Mayan sacrificing, Demons, Evil creatures and monsters, Disaters, Elfin women with bow, Big guy with shield, Amazing spells and magic special effects and some other stuffs into Unreal Engine 3 then you'll get Hunted.
