It is pretty stuck up, but it doesn't bother me seeing how so many pc gamers say similar insults to console gamers.

I agree somewhat, but I wouldn't put it like that. I find consoles more convenient than the PC platform, but the PC platform has a plethora of advantages over consoles. It just takes a bit of know-how to understand the difference, something that commenter seems to lack.

It is true that PC gamers are equally obnoxious on occasion, but the thing that bothers me about this user's comment is that most of it either isn't true or is just foolish.

I find it really funny when people say you have spend $300 on a new graphics card every year or 6 months or something. And consoles are cheaper sure, but I don't like being restricted to 1280x720 resolution or less and 30 FPS.

I think the best way to sum it all up is that PCs are more expensive, but you get much more in return.

It seems like some people try and rationalize not having a gaming PC, like they are defending their honor, when they give lame, misinformed reasons like that. Why not just come out and say you simply like consoles more/don't care to build or get a gaming PC/can't afford it, or whatever? It's not like anyone really gives a damn (except perhaps, for lack of a better term, "elitists").

Completely ignoring the fact that you generally can play most modern games with decent five year old hardware (just not nearly as pretty)...

I play on both consoles and PC and am harassed by both parties.

IGN, like any business, including people individually, realize that when they have an opinion about something, there are those who will disagree. Obviously the behaviour of their post varies, but surely they don't take it to heart, just like I don't give a damn what others think of my opinions. Gotta have thick skin in this world not to go nuts caring excessively what people think about you or your opinions.
