Brink's correlation with being from Bethesda

Post » Sun Jun 12, 2011 7:08 pm

Now trust me, Bethesda is one of the greatest companies out there for gaming, right up there with Valve and BioWare. That being said, I can name three games from them that were buggy as hell in the beginning, mainly their games with a huge environment or customization. Fallout 3, Fallout: New: Vegas, and brink all had VERY bag bug problems for the first couple of weeks. Why? Bethesda is a very big company and, yes, I know that Brink isn't their game, it's Splash Damages, but either way, many games from Bethesda are really buggy and I was just wondering why that was. Like I said before they are a very great company. but I'm just wondering what's up with all the bugs.

I'm not planning on getting MW3, but you do realize that the paid elite service is optional. It provides more in depth stats such as where the majority of your shots land, where you get killed the most on certain maps, etc. These stats aren't that useful to the average gamer

I'm getting BF3, but I still would like to correct that assumption.

Win.

Come join the darkside!

@OP, I agree... slightly. Now, Fallout 3 wasn't AS buggy/glitchy as New Vegas. Why? Because Obsidian got handed a game engine they didn't fully know how to use to it's advantages. They added and subtracted from too many things, that i'm sure it caused a HELLUVA lotta problems down the line.

Hell, Obsidian/Bethesda are STILL trying to patch New Vegas to this day (And it's been out almost an entire year now?). I will say though my experience with Fallout NV will NEVER come close to the joy I had on Fallout 3. Honestly, Bethesda made Fallout better.

Obsidian just tried coming out saying "OH we originally made Fallout, it's OUR GAME!!! crycrycry butthurt". And what ends up happening? They made the game literally 10x worse then what Bethesda did with it.

I actually pray to the gods Obsidian does NOT get to touch Fallout 4 or I am seriously not going to buy it. BETHESDA are the epic RPG makers, Obsidian just think's they're the s--t because they made KotR and Jade Empire? SO?

IMHO, Oblivion just by itself b---hslaps both games in the mouth several times, and Skyrim will dominate ALL!

Sorry, wen't a lil off topic, from being on topic lol...

But yeah, it's Obsidian's fault that NV was so terrible. Gameplay wise it was great, just all the bugs/glitches/blackscreen freezes, etc... not so great. I wouldn't blame Bethesda for anything, not even Brink. They just put there name on it to hopefully get more press. Hell, why do you think they still published New Vegas? (same reasoning)

Bet they feel like horsesh-t now that NV is such a screwup title. If you wanna blame anyone it's SD. In which case you shouldn't even blame them. This is technically like their FIRST big title that was GOING to put them on the map.

It's just not doing what they hoped for, because they tried rushing the game thinking it was great the way it was and didn't need a beta/demo. (I don't get why Dev's keep getting more and more ignorant with this?)

It's when the game actually hits shelves, and enters people's disc trays that the true Evil appears in form. Because we are doing things way differently then they are/did when making the game.

Fallout 3 - Bethesda
Fallout New Vegas - Obsidian
Brink - Splash Damage

Three completely different companies developed the games.

Im pretty sure the maps will be available for sale separately to non-elite players or else they'd be cutting out a big chunk of their market. As for halo, Doesn't xbox live cost a monthly fee?

Obsidian are a horrible company. My heart sank when they were announced as the developers. To be fair there is a lot of enjoyable stuff about New Vegas. It's just a shame it's so broken.
