NCR faction randomly lowers : Fallout: New Vegas

I have been doing many of the quests for the NCR, but my reputation keeps resetting to neutral. I have not done anything criminal against the NCR, including but not limited to stealing killing or even doing missions for opposing factions. I have done six or seven of the quests and am currently questing out of one of the camps? Is there something that I am doing which might be causing the reputation drop? Is there a timer? can anyone explain to me what might be happening?

Whenever you wear faction armor, your rep changes to nuetral for that faction and changes for any "rival" factions, and changes back when not wearing it.

Ex. If you wear Legion armor, you will be nuetral towards them, even if you were idolized before by them, but don't expect a nice welcome by people like the NCR.

But everything changes to normal once you take it off though. Make sure to change (on and off) when hidden too, they may be pixels but they ain't stupid!

Wait a sec, which ranger uniform? The one from the boxart or the ones with he scarf and radio? If the armor like the boxart, I stand correct but if you are wearing the ranger clothes that make you look like a cowboy, idk whats going on. Thats the clothes I wear and I dont get a peep from NCR and rival factions, so it acts as regular clothes for me.

I'm wearing the ranger armor that has the combat knife on the chest of it. The ranger armor that is 15dr. So will my faction never go up visibly if i always have NCR armor on? Or will it increase if i take the armor off?

Taken from the wiki: "Notes
Wearing any faction armor will move your reputation with that faction to neutral. For example, if you are "Liked" by the NCR but you are wearing NCR Face Wrap Armor your reputation with the NCR will be neutral. It will return to "Liked" if you take that armor off."
