Hardware for Computer Build

Post » Tue Jun 14, 2011 7:25 am

So I plan to start building by early July. My budget sorta took a blow, so I'm going to try to keep the price around 800 USD. I need a monitor too, might be able to raise price up to 900 or so but that's about it.

So far, this is what I have (keep in mind this is my first time attempting to build a computer):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.667953 (Hard Drive and CD/DVD)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066&cm_sp=Cat_Computer_Cases-_-Product_Spotlight-_-11-129-066 (Case)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.661554 (CPU and Motherboard)
http://www.newegg.com/Store/ComboDeals.aspx?ComboStoreID=25&name=Video-Cards-Power-Supplies (I wanted someone to give me advice on which bundle to pick here. Video Card and Power Supply)

Mainly I want to hear some suggestions, as well as confirmation on if all this is compatible. I could have picked cruddy hardware, I have no damned idea.

With the power supply and video card, I just estimated and used 300$, but the total for all this is nearly $700 (added Windows 7, +90 dollars). Leaving me just a bit of wiggle room, with a decent monitor in there too. If you really suggest upping the quality on something or you recommend me not getting a bundle and buying something individual, let me know. I prefer bundles though. So please, give any input.

Also, make sure I actually got all the necessary parts as well. I'm surely going to put a fan in there also, so you can pick me out a nice and pretty (and quiet) one if you would. :D

Thanks if you help!

Should probably add Windows 7 to the list as well.
