If you enjoy playing Brink and want to learn how to play well, then add one of us and ask for tips.

There's more than four. Just ask Pho7on and Mudkip, they know who I am. If anyone else needs a little help feel free to hit me up too, GT: Hiero Glyph.

I won't post the gamertags of the rest but there are easily more than four players left who know a thing or two about Brink.

If I could interrupt the mutual ego-stroking for a moment :

Firstly, you clearly need to make a concerted effort to get over yourselves. Seriously.

Secondly, which highly qualified group of judges determines who's a good Brink player? Or would this assessment be self-determined?

Lastly, of course......would you object if I basked in your awesomeness? Please, just for a little while?

Just.....wow.

To be honest there is only a small group of players that regularly compete on the competition playlist. Most of us know who the others are and while new players regularly have a good game or two, it is rare for someone to dominate against these players on a regular basis. There is no bias or ego-stroking involved. I will admit that playing with Pho7on has improved my game because the level of the play also improved. You simply cannot get better playing against average players; you can learn plenty of bad habits though.

Most players do not understand Brink and while playing last night I discussed some things with other players and inadvertently taught them many things that they did not know previously. I have spent a ton of time playing Brink and still continue to learn new things almost every time I play. The game has a lot of complexities and learning from more experienced players or playing against them does make a difference. Last night we moved to a private match for a game and had a fantastic time because the level of play was far, far above the public matches. Better yet, we never had to worry about players leaving out of frustration or teams becoming imbalanced during the game.

In the end Brink has a rather substantial learning curve and while it may sound pompous to categorize the skill level of players there is not a matchmaking system that does this for us so we need to develop a way to find other players of a similar skill level. I cannot single-handedly win a game for my team but with a second or third experienced player you can turn the tide. Against a team of 4-5 skilled players though, it will take an equal amount of skilled players to even stand a chance. In Brink you are only as strong as your weakest player and this is the purpose of this thread, to improve the quality of the players.

If you feel that you are experienced then post your gamertag and enjoy the games. At the very least you will make some new friends, learn more about Brink and help the newer players improve their tactics.

Don't listen to him Photon and Matters are well... all they do is use CARB 9 lightweight with Molotov... they don't play objectives they go for kills.. and they have a play style known as RUSH SPAWNS.

My old crew had some run ins PLENTY of times..

yeah.. ego times ten too.. they trash talk like pros.

Im up for playing with some regular players but am not interested at all in joining a lobby under the pretense of being taught anything because I'm a 'lesser player'. By putting it that way you'll probably just turn people away. While I agree with Glyh's sentiments about playing with higher level players, all I feel now - regardless of honest intent - is that I hope I never play with the 4 names mentioned. I'll add people I think I'll have fun with, ta.
