The A Key

Post » Fri Jun 17, 2011 11:06 am

When dealing with inventory and a container, is there any way to map the A key for "Take All" to something else that IS NOT the same as "Ok" for when it asks if you would like to choose more than 5 items to transfer?

Here is my problem: I'm placing loads of ammo (which has weight on hardcoe mode) or other various things into a container which already contains lots and lots and lots of stuff. If there is less than 6 items in the stack I just click quickly through them. No problem. If there are 6 or more items in the stack it asks me how many I want to transfer. I usually hit A which means Ok on all of them (the default amount). If I accidentally click a stack with less than 6 items and my sleep deprived brain tells my finger to click A to signify the whole stack it grabs everything from the container and places it in my inventory. This causes my wife to have to walk back to the computer room to see if I'm fighting off an intruder or having a heart attack or something due to the banging and cursing. She's getting tired of that so I need some help lol!

Personally, I use W.

If you look in the XML file, there are two places you change: the hotkey itself near the top, and the hotkey's label farther down.

Change the ''A'' to whatever hotkey you want to use:
<_PCButton_A> QM_OKButton

then scroll down and change:
<_PCButtonText> &-sPCMenuHintA;

this ''A'' to whatever hotkey you changed it to so the label is accurate.

There isn't a label for every single key, so you may not be able to have a proper hotkey label if you choose a stupid hotkey.
