Is this possible to do or out of the question?

I'm just curious...but does anyone think this would be too hard to do? What if there was an add-on that would allow you to use all the weapons items and armors from Fallout 3 in the Mojave Wasteland and vice versa??? I'd be willing to pay more than 10 bucks for something like that...

Have a computer? There are already several mods that do that. One infact adds the entire capital wasteland to vegas dlc and all. (Assuming that you own fallout 3 and dlc, because you need to move some folders around)

edit: By computer I mean the pc version of vegas :P

There are a few items I would like to see again, but I don't think an add-on is necessary just for weapons and items. Now a patch that allows the player to use the junk that is lying around everywhere to create weapons and other useful items in the wasteland.

The railway rifle what a great weapon. It would be cool if in owb there is a crafting station to modify stuff like add paint then you could make your own outcast power armor.

It might be technically possible but highly unfeasable porting to 3 would be impossible due to engine modifications adding additional stats not to mention the differences between dt and dr that you'd have to adjust for you have to recode each weapon and its animations same for going from 3 to new vegas. It would be a huge undertaking you'd probably end up with reskinned and slightly tweaked version of a similar weapon and even that would take a fair amount of work. It ain't going to happen too much work and almost no demand plus at this point fallout 3 is done their not going to update or release dlc for it and new vegas is in the same boat we'll get the last 2 dlc's maybe a bug fix or two but Bethesdas moved on.

Most of the Fallout 3 weapons and many outfits and armor are in the game's files, it would be a trivial matter to make them playable. And there are mods for PC that do.

This.
However I think the Op is referring to more legitimate channels by which they can access Fo3 material. More importantly things that don't involve console commands or mods considering there are people who don't play on PC.
